The team goes off-world and ends up in serious trouble. Meanwhile, Landry is faced with having to decide whether or not Vala can be trusted to remain at the SGC.

Its a typical stargate episode 2. After all the action of the season opener, they take their foot straight off the gas again, and do the standard "SG1 get in trouble on another planet" story. Its not a particularly bad "SG1 get in trouble on another planet" story, but all the same, it feels wrong. I though the galaxy was on the brink of being over run by the ori?

Anyway, it was an OK episode. A few good lines in it. Vala and Mitchell seem much more at home this series. I hardly ever think of them as Crichton and Aeryn anymore. Vala joining SG1 seems a little contrived, but I imagine she is going to be a decent character, so I don't mind too much.

I enjoyed this one - while it was the same old 'stuck on a planet' trash, it was enjoyable in the SG-1 is - had you done this on a Trek episode it would have probably not been as good.

I enjoyed the Vala story - although I'm sure Teal'c had it a lot easier than she did (and he was the First Prime of Apophis of all people) since by the end of the second episode he was already on SG-1, while Vala has to go through each and every test under the sun (and still has lots more to do before she'll be accepted on a team).....

I think it was fairly inevitable, after the last 4 or 5 episodes that this one would be somewhat slower in pace, and to be honest, I thought it was pretty decent. Pretty much by the numbers, but good still, and the b-story with Vala was better than the average b-story IMO. The Woolsey bit was obvious but Vala's character's coming along nicely.

It's not like they completely put the Ori aside with this one either, they went to the planet desperately trying to search for the anti-Ori weapon. They just didn't find it

I agree with all the previous posts, the "A" story was cliche to the point where it isn't even cute anymore

But what the A story lacked, the B story more than made up for. I thought that Vala's interactions with the SG Command personnel were hilarious, most especially when she was hooked up to the polygraph

I loved her little tirade about how she had changed, and that she had finally found someone how believed in her :tear: Too cute :D

I think maybe Vala was the real A story having watched the episode again. It spent a lot of time on getting her onto the team ready for the next episodes. She is wonderful fun and even though they have toned her down a little I love her irreverance

The other story was making me sleepy just watching

Hee to Vala on the polygraph, telling the Doctor how good looking he was, and trying to study for the tests - saying she saw kindness in the inkblots.

The sleepy storyline was a bit dull though. <_<
