Title: Episode 5x12 Major Spoilers

Sorry, no idea of the title or no. we're up to but Oh.My.God. How could they do that? It was bad enough when I thought Lana died but when it was Johnathan I wished it had stayed at Lana. I'm not ashamed to admit I shed a tear throughout the ending :tear:

Stonking episode though, imo

I got spoiled a while back about the "who", but the "how" came as a complete - and thrilling - surprise (especially during the excellent teaser). For the first half of the episode I kept expecting Clark to wake up and find it was a dream. That they didn't take that route was, I think, quite brilliant. When the crash happened I was actually totally shocked and even a little upset (yes, even with it being Lana  ).

After that it went pretty much by the numbers, I guess, but it was still terrific, if only because of the tension produced by the inevitability (of course, being spoiled caused that  ). It's set up the relationship between Lex and Lana very nicely, and could Clark be anymore tortured? Curious to know what evidence Lionel had against Jonathan, too.

I'm very sad to see John Schneider depart, I've always liked him in the role, even though he has been criminally underused in the last couple of seasons. I have to say that I found the last few minutes incredibly difficult to watch because it brought back so many unhappy memories, but maybe that indicates how well they pulled it off. It's fitting, perhaps, that his final scene echoed that of Glenn Ford in the movie so perfectly (I also liked Chloe's comment about Clark spinning the world backwards on its axis  ).

As good and memorable a 100th episode as you could wish for

Thanks to whoever changed the title

I'm sad to see John Schneider leave as well :tear: I hope to god we're not subjected to a Martha/Lionel Luther union in the future as a result though :fear:

I only got spoiled that someone died so the whole episode was just one big waiting game for me with every scene being the potential moment which made it quite the more thrilling for me

I really enjoyed this episode, first of all thank god it was Lana :lmao: I'm much happier to see Johnathan go. I guess we'll be seeing a lot more of Lex/Lana now. And the vibe between Martha and Lionel :fear:

Brilliant espisode! If I had to chose one episode that summed up what Smallville was about, this would be it.

Finest episode of the entire series, by some distance IMO
