What an episode, though part 2 was even better!
Is it just me or is Bill Adama turning from this hardened military man into a loveable ole grandpa??? I like this character more and more every week.
And the Bommer, Helo, Tyrol looks like it could be a good little story point.
Though by the end of pt 2, the story can finally get moving, we are no longer dealing with the fall out from the season finale. Looking forward to the second season kicking off.

I like the way they take the time to deal with fallout from previous episodes. If this had been star trek, Roslin would have been president again by the end of the first ep of season 2. Still, its nice to have the fleet back together.

I don't know. He always has his moments of grandpa-y-ness. I think he lost it a bit after he got shot, but he seems back to his more normal state now.

And if this had been Trek Roslin would never have lied and double crossed Helo and Boomer like that. As Adama gets softer Roslin seems to get harder.
Brilliant stuff. Especially like the kiss between Apollo and Starbuck and their look afterwards. Couldn't have done that in the original series

Another great episode  and how tense was the beginning! :o
Helo with a gun at Apollo's head, Apollo with a gun at Boomers head and then Roslin double-crossing Helo. :o
Roslin might have problems down the road with people/Cylon's trusting her word. It just goes to show how much her character has changed in such a short space of time, from relatively naive teacher to a cut throat politician!
More comments on this double bill on the pt 2 thread...

No spoilers for the rest of S2 as I am only this far at this point.
Like the genius mechanist fantasies of The Terminator films I am puzzled about how we/the characters are supposed to respond to Sharon. Just as The Terminator films ask are we like terminators ie just 'robots' beneath the skin so essentially no different to 'robots' BSG is doing something similar.
Sharon 'behaves' exactly like us hence she is like us.(See also the great work of art that is Frankenstein(the book I mean) as it shows that something behaves exactly like us is surely endowed with a mind).
I am a bit puzzled from the previous story metaphysics about how strongly human cylons are programmed ie can they break their programming and act independently. Clearly no 6 was nearly in tears when discussing Sharon and human emotions on Caprica so something strange is going on. I hope this is clarified, at least a bit, one way or another in the future. sk
