Hmm, thought it was okay.

Some good lines, though I did rather feel that Matt Smith running around on a pirate ship was the equivalent of David Tennant running down corridors. ;)

Liked the last 10 mins - more interesting but a bit eh ?

Eep, I was really worried for Rory. Again.

And... Eyepatch Lady ?

Hmm, speculation that Frances Barber`s Eyepatch Lady is the Midwife for Amy. :ponder:

Darris - May 8, 2011 12:56 PM (GMT)
eye patch lady?

That must have happened when I wandered into the kitchen, it didn't hold my attention at the beginning. I shall watch the ep again on iplayer.

It wasn't until we discover that that the ships crew were on the other ship and the siren was an automated doctor that I began to pay attention.

Was I worried for Rory? No. I was more annoyed that he wasn't dead - harsh I know but I think there is a better dynamic with the doctor and Amy on their own.

I actually enjoyed Confidential more than the episode, at least they explain a bit more of why they do certain things in the ep. And although she never said anything, I though Lily Cole was a great choice for the siren.

Edit: having just read about Francis Barber being the eye patch lady, I really need to go back and rewatch, I would have recognised her as she was in Red Dwarf and the IT Crowd. I tend to notice someone if I have seen them in other things. I don't recall seeing her at all.

It was just as brief an appearance as in the 2nd ep, coming when Amy, Rory and the boy were settling down to sleep in the gunpowder room. :)

Eye Patch Lady :)

:ermm: average episode

Rory dying .................. my reaction

ok how come a guy who spent 2000 years protecting amy actually can't even save his own life and need Amy to save the day (is she too strong minded that he end up helpless when she is around  )

and seriously the Tardis has no sick bay (not even a debrifilator? what bother with human companion, Martha jones would be so annoyed  ) ? and a guy who has been around for 900years don't have first aid knowledge

isn't that a bit too fast to go from shipman to spaceman without second thoughts (ohh it's just an other kind of ship), hello you are a freeking 17th century pirate <_<

and seriously weeks being stranded and no one notice a coughing kid?

as much clueless doctor is fun, he went through way too many theories

and then we got the eye patch lady :ponder: so is it due to the silence playing mind trick but then why push amy to tell the doctor about her pregnancy, is it something we will learn as part of the big mid season cliffanger? the way she check on amy make me think of the play room in voyager so reality, fantasy, alternative world, dream,...?

:ermm: :ponder:

I watched it earlier, and saw Francis Barber, I guess she is going to be in the series throughout being as she is in the next one too.

I am still confused about Rory, when the Doctor saw him again he said Roman Rory, is Rory human? I know he was in the last season as a character that was extracted from Amy's book. I was only wondering what with Amy having to perform CPR on him. I also wanted to know why the doctor couldn't help being as he must have picked up how to perform the kiss of life over his travels.

Can anyone lend me a tardis so i can seen the outcome of this pregnancy issue, I have a feeling that is going to be an occurring thing all season.

I thought that Rory was human now and the memory of all those years waiting for Amy had belonged to a different timeline where he was an Auton ?

Agree with alot of whats been said - a pretty so so episode and after all the epicness and overload of plot and action of the opening two-parter a bit of a come down.

Did think it got more interesting once they got off the pirate ship and did love the Doctor running to give the Tardis a hug.

I think i agree with most of what has been said. From the trailer it looked like a good ep, but i was bored with most of it.

I wasn't impressed that the doctor didn't have some advanced medical technology on the tardis to save rory, having travelled with Martha the doctor and Rory the nurse. Also, random point, he has a St. John Ambulance sticker on the door of the tardis, how can they have that on the show and have no one know how to do CPR besides the nurse.

Didn't really try to follow the pirate/siren storyline, wasn't really interested. I am curious about why the doctor keeps doing these pregnancy scans on Amy, changing from positive to negative, what's that supposed to be about?

Hope next weeks episode is better.

episode one, amy told the doc she was pregnant, episode two she said she wasn't and because the doc is always suspicious, he is scanning Amy and now he is worry because his scanner seems very confused  I guess actually investigating the matter would be too easy

If the Tardis can't tell maybe next week he should just materialize in Boots. ;)

Still confused, but i'm guessing we're supposed to be at this stage. Interesting idea about the child being River, can't rule it out, but it would be weird.
