Allright, so you want to be a good RP-er, do you?

The first thing you can start with is working on your posts' lengths.

A good post sould be at least a few sentences, but most people like it if you post more than that. A few paragraphs would be really nice. To do this, put a lot of detail into your posts, describing things like how the horse was moving, and what they looked like when they were moving--were their muscles 'rippling like water' as they moved? Or were they simply not seen at all? Maybe the horse's mane was covering up the muscles of the shoulder, so they couldn't be seen.

Describe the weather--was it cloudy and rainy and miserable? Or was it sunny and warm? Maybe there was a storm rolling in, which 'roared like a thousand angry lions.' Was the ground wet and soggy, or dry and hard? Was it cracked? Were the trees dark and mysterious, or bright and welcoming?

Also, try describing just how your character is feeling. This provides the readers of your posts with an in-depth look at who your character is. Is he or she hateful and suspicious of everyone they meet? If so, why? Perhaps your character hates another character because of their looks. Or maybe because they were challenging them for a land. Maybe your characters have met in the past, and something bad happened between them that made them hate one another.

If your character likes someone, let's say...a stallion is in love with a mare...tell us why he is in love with her. What is it that makes him love her? Is it the way she acts? Is it her looks? Is it because of who she is? Or better yet--maybe he's just pretending to love her, so he can claim her, and use her for bragging rights against another not-so-friendly stallion.

Another important thing is to put some sort of distinction between your horse's thoughts and his or her words. Basically, do something to let us know your horse isn't thinking to himself anymore, but is talking out loud. Something like...bolding, changing colour, or simply putting speech marks around your words make it much easier to see and understand your posts.

Human emotions can be played out in these characters--that's the whole point of this game. Basically, just read some of the other, more experienced players' posts, and get an idea of what people like to read. As you'll likely notice, those with more descriptive posts tend to get more responses. It's just a general rule of thumb. Those who don't play out their characters in a way which is interesting tend not to get a lot of interest. Make your character unique.

So there you go. Now that you've read this, go check out the Commonly Misspelled Words section--spelling is another important part of making your posts look good. No one wants to read a post that says stuff like 'he said u r the most buaetifull thing evr.' I mean, face it--you sound illiterate. Anyway, so go read, and soon you'll be on your way to great posting. =]
