He trained under the guidence of the previous Master Halen Tenshimaru, his father. After 3 years Halen Dissappeared from the organization without a trace. Kurisu continued to train until the time he was called to lead the organization as his father would. With the Skills he had from before and new skills he learned he is Show to be a very powerful warrior. Kurisu also holds the abilities of the Pheonix.
