i speak spanish & english fluently, and i'm working really hard to learn japanese. i went to japan in march, and i'm looking to major in japanese linguistics (whenever it is that i have time to go back to school).

IF i have time after learning japanese sufficiently enough (it will take yeeeeeeaaars), i would like to learn korean or chinese. most likely korean. but yeah, i'll be concentrating on japanese for a long time. xD

Several. Fluently, English only even though it isn't my first or birth language. Bengali somes second, only thing I don't understand is accents, and I forgot how to read and write it, so I'm not fluent. Third would probably be Japanese, but I can't read or write it and am still learning; accents are a pain in the arse. Arabic comes fourth, on this hand, I don't understand almost half the language, know how to read and write though. Fifth, sixth, seventh, etc, any other languages I know from picking up words, such a French (since I live in Canada who has 2 national languages), Urdu, Hindi, Spanish, and maybe some Chinese (cantonese), but don't entrust me with anything on the last. You can learn a few things from watching Cooking Master Boy in Chinese with English subs.

P.S. If the question of the topic was title "what languages do you know besides English?" Arabic and Japanese here would be switched. Verbally, I understand more of Japanese than Arabic (though not enough for any long conversations).

Note: If there any pupils here that would like to learn Japanese from proper "university-based" sources, let me know. I can link you to many free sites which you can learn from. But this offer is only for people who know at least how to read and some understanding of verbal Japanese.

I know spanish too...i suck at writing( i learned spanish watching telenovelas( spanish soap-opera) when i was little)
I understand italian
and even though i studied 12 years,in school,german..i still don't know how to speak in german...i know simple words and that's it...and i have to take german classes in college too :sigh:
