New to Condemned in Purgatory and looking to get into the game? Follow these steps and you'll be roleplaying with our fantastic community in no time!

1. Read through our Timeline and History for the basic plot information.
The timeline is designed to give a brief overview of our world and help you organize your character's history in a consistent manner. Conversely, the history provides the detailed information about the characters and events that shaped the CIP world.

The above linked history is required reading. However, if you would like more information on the history of Condemned In Purgatory's world, please feel free to read the Expanded History. This is not required.

2. Read over our IC and OOC Rules.
Most of our rules are fairly standard for any roleplaying community, but we do have a few specific quirks all members must adhere to while writing and generally engaging with the community.

3. Familiarize yourself with the specifics of the CIP story, such as the different Races & Clans, to help you craft your character.
Need a little extra help with character creation? Feel free to check out our Character Idea list, Character Needs, and Canon Characters.


4. If you haven't already, create your account with your character's name, and then fill out the application.
Remember to follow the application format without any alterations! Our approvals or requests for change will be posted within 24 hours.

5. After approval, you're eligible to roleplay!
We suggest checking out the active threads and hopping in there if possible. If not or you'd prefer to start a new thread, start a planning thread in the Plotting & Brainstorming forum. You may also request graphics, like signatures or avatars, in the Visual Rapture forum, and explore your character's deepest thoughts in the Memoirs of the Damned forum.
