CASTANET ISLAND
Welcome to Light of the Harvest Moon! We are a Harvest Moon based RP forum set on Castanet Island. We have dozens of canon characters from all the games to pick from, but you can always make your own character as well. Feel free to look around our forums and see what insanity the members have been up too.

Slowly, the snow has melted away and the green grass has been poking it's way up. Flowers have begun blooming again, the trees are leafing, and the fish are swimming. However, the entire island is still not at ease. With the continued search for the missing Harvest Sprites, some of the villagers run around frantic worried about what will happen to the island if they don't find all of the sprites. Also, some villagers have noticed that the sea seems...different. Not as gentle as it used to be. However, not that many villagers are worried about it now though. Is it an omen of things to come?

With the help of Madison, it didn't take forever and a day to make it to the farm. Ahh, home sweet home, how he had missed it!

Favoring his bad ankle, the silver-haired youth looked around. Autumn was winding down and the fields weren't doing that well. After the moon viewing night, he had simply left - there hadn't been time to leave word. Would Adelaide be upset with him short absence? Would she be worried? Or angry? Mmm. Suddenly, maybe going to the clinic seemed more appealing.

"Go ahead and knock on the door. All the gauze and medicine is inside." He managed a hesitant grin. "Plus... technically it's her house. May as well treat it with respect."

Madison walked up to the house with Skye. he seemed like an interesting person so far. Very polite, and not too heavy so it was easy to help him to the farm. She looked at him as he spoke as to be polite before looking at the house. "It's....nice." she said smiling gently. She certainly wouldn't mind working here.

"Of course. i'd never be one to just barge into someone's home without knocking." she said cheerfully. "Should we go in if your friend doesn't answer? I'd rather not let you sit out here with a swollen ankle." she said smiling before she knocked.

leave me alone, i'ml o n e l y . Harvest, harvest, harvest...It was the end of Fall. Finally. Adelaide was a strong woman - she could kick a man's tuckuss to the curb if he ever tried anything on her. However, this kind of labor was something highly foreign to her; it was so... monotonous. It was... relaxing. Her back was aching, though, and her wicker basket was full to the brim with autumn vegetables; eggplants, carrots, yams, and more. And best of all, it was the last harvesting of the season! Winter would be cozy and relaxing this year, and Adelaide was looking forward to it like a little school child looked forward to summer vacation. The wet weather and gray skies only reminded her of one person, thoough;Skye Soleil. He was gone. Vanished. Disappeared. Fell of the face of the earth... Not that she'd been looking very hard for him. Yes, she'd been snooping around town, wondering where he's been, but it's not like she called out a search party. He could obviously take care of himself. And yet... She was worried. And angry. And... lonely. He was the only one who stuck around her even when she was mean to him...And she was hungry. She was awful at cooking. Skye was awesome. Her messy gold ponytail swished around as she bent up and down to harvest the crops, getting all in her face and eyes; only adding to her natural irritated mentality. Between all of the pulling and tugging, she began to hear voices...Familiar voices.Casually, working gloves still on and basket draped along the pit of her forearm, she swaggered on over to the front of the house that Skye had "got" for her, wondering who would come to visit at such a strange time; and at such a strange place. Did everyone find old farms interesting here? It wasn't like they were uncommon. Her brow tightened and her forest eyes widened as she planted her heavy feet in eye-shot of the two visitors."Skye?"PLACE: Argentum ac Aurum TAGGED: Skye & Madison WEARING: this. "Of course. I'd never be one to just barge into someone's home without knocking. ... Should we go in if your friend doesn't answer? I'd rather not let you sit out here with a swollen ankle."

"If she's not here, we can-"

"Skye...?

... Strange. Very, very strange. Standing there, leaning against Madison, he felt something inside him prick. Familiarity. Longing. A strange desire.

He had missed her. Her! The uncouth, ruthless girl that liked to sneak an insult in whenever she could. He ignored her colder demeanor simply because she was useful. Ahh, but that really only was part of it, and he knew that very well. Especially when it sunk fully into his mind - he, Skye Soleil, had missed Adelaide Deson, despite barely knowing her.

This wasn't going to be a good situation for him in the end.

"H-Hey." Despite himself, a slight stammer entered his voice, the pain showing clearly in his features. "Do you think we could come in and sit? I fell in the mines and it... really hurts to stand. If you don't mind us intruding, that is, little girl."

Madison stood there waiting for the door to open. Once it did she looked at the bonde girl she saw in the shopping district that day. The one who seemed to have an attitude. She looked at Skye as he seemed nervous. She resisted a sigh as he called her 'little girl'. She didn't think anyone would want to be called that. So with that she stood up taller, trying to support Skye a bit more.

"Excuse me ma'am, I apologize for intruding, but as Skye said, he fell in a cave and hurt his ankle. May we please come in so I can wrap it up for him?" she asked bowing a bit to show respect.

leave me alone, i'ml o n e l y . What was this awkward feeling that was squirming its way into her stomach?Sensations unfamiliar to the bitter girl twanged around her entire body; her nerves, really. What did that mean? Goddess, she'd been harvest crops all day. That must it. It must. Her eyes scanned the two over in a way that was obviously an intense, critical judgement of the two; especially the annoyingly beautiful girl who was supporting Skye.Of course. He only associated with the prettiest girls. There was that squirming again...Her rude thoughts were interrupted by another emotion. The look on Skye's face, the way his body was moving... He really was hurt. These feelings were buried beneath so much aggression that she didn't even recognize them.Without a word - eyes wide, brows strained, she nodded, taking hurried steps over to the door, opening it as quickly as she could. She didn't even bother to take off her gloves or put down her basket. The doorknob got a little dirty. She stared at them, moving out of the way so the girl - whom she just realized she'd seen at the shopping center awhile ago - could help Skye into her.... their home.If there was one thing that was scarier than Adelaide's yelling, it was her silence.PLACE: Argentum ac Aurum TAGGED: Skye & Madison WEARING: this. Getting inside took a bit of work. In the very least, he made an attempt to lean on himself more then Madison. Not that it was easy! It just... he didn't like being supported, for some reason, now that someone else was there. It felt horribly condescending and he couldn't quite place it. Almost like he'd be judged for his clumsiness.

He plopped down on one of the chairs in the kitchen unceremoniously, letting out a quick rush of air. Ow, ow, ow. Okay. No more mines for him. Too bad he hadn't even accomplished his goal while there. Well, damn.

"Sorry for leaving like that. Had to tie up some loose ends. I tried to write a letter, but..." Whether or not that was the truth would remain unknown for the time being. A hiss of pain escaped him as he pressed his foot to the ground, his ankle throbbing in aggravation. Nope, not gonna be good.

"Everything here been okay?"

Madison awkwardly helped Skye into the house, feeling a bit of tension between Skye and the blonde haired girl. Once he plopped in the char she turned to the young blonde girl ahd held out her hand with a smile. "It's...nice to meet you. My name's Madison." she said, her winning smile in place.

"Erm....I hate to interrupt but where are the towels? He should get some ice on his ankle, then we'll wrap it up." she said, feeling awkward about all of this.

leave me alone, i'ml o n e l y . Adelaide's vivid eyes were tensely rotating between the girl and Skye. She was oh so confused, but refused to show any sign of weakness - especially around some girl Skye dug up in the mines. Instead, she held her firm stature and followed them confidently, despite her insecurity. She looked at Skye as he told his story, but after all that went on, Adelaide couldn't help but feel a strong distrust for him. Being away from him so long almost caused her to forget his true colors; you know, behind the silvery hair and handsome smile. She didn't say a word to him. Not one. She remained focused, though hints of "what's going on?" and "what do I do?" and "I missed you, I was worried," and "I'm angry! Why did you disappear?" lingered all around her strict glances at the two. She nodded to him slowly, lips loosely closed. His hiss of pain revealed a nano-second look of distress and pity. Then it vanished."Fine," she answered calmly. She looked at Madison quickly, drawn away from her mesmerization on Skye. She was smiling and extending her hand, but that only made Adelaide want to ignore her all the more. Still... She seemed nice. She guessed."Adelaide." she said, introducing herself rather shortly. First impressions were not Adelaide's forte. "Pleasure."She stared at Madison for a moment, examining her face. "I'll get them," she responded finally, not wanting a stranger snooping around the house. That, and... She just wanted to get it. I was just proper.Without another word, she left the kitchen, her boots making subtle noises against the wooden flooring. Going to the bathroom and a hand-towel, she dampened it with cold water. Quickly, she walked back into the kitchen, carefully carrying the damp towel, and opened up the freezer. Crackling some ice out of an ice-tray, she plopped some in the towel. Folding it over to cover the ice, she was left with a rectangle-shape.Briskly, she knelt down at Skye's feet and examined his ankle. Carefully pulling up his pant-leg, she began to wrap the towel-and-ice "sandwich" around his ankle. It really was swollen."So how did this happen?" she asked abruptly to no one in particular. She knew she was making Madison feel very left out and awkward. She didn't care.PLACE: Argentum ac Aurum TAGGED: Skye & Madison WEARING: this. LYRICS: Pink

How did this happen? Well, that was an interesting story, no matter how he looked at it.

"I went to the mine to look for a gemstone to make into a piece of jewelry. Probably earrings. Was thinking of emeralds." For some reason, speaking didn't come easily at that exact moment. Maybe it was the fact that Adelaide of all people happened to be kneeling in front of him tending to his ankle. All in all? He didn't think she'd have a clue on what to do.

"They match your eyes." In the very least he managed to grin again, amusement creeping into his face to mingle with the pain. "Madison stumbled across me somehow. Lucky chance, huh? She's interested in helping out on the farm as well. I was gonna to some remodeling and add another room on, since... it'd be nice to get animals, but it'd be a lot of work for just on- two people, you know? She's really strong too! Go me all the way here."

Madison nodded as Adelaide went to get the ice and sat down next to Skye. Looking at the two she continued to fool with her hat before messing with her stubby little ponytail. Once mentioned by Skye in the story of what happened she smiled slightly. "Eh, it was no problem. You needed help and I figured I'd give it to you." she said with a toothy grin.

Then she turned to Adelaide with a more serious expression. "But he's right. I would like to work on your farm. I've helped out on my cousin's farm in Winsboro and I know quite a bit about seeds and planting and crops." she explained.

leave me alone, i'ml o n e l y . Once she was done wrapping up Skye's swollen ankle, she stood up and patted down her blue dress; she wasn't exactly looking her best; she looked like a farm girl. The story was odd; she wasn't aware that Skye had any interest in jems and ores and jewels. Was he that kind of guy? She didn't really know.Normally, at this time, she'd make a tart comment about how he was a pretty-boy for having an interest in making jewelry. But now wasn't the time for that; besides, her tongue was pretty tied up at the moment. She looked up at his "compliment", but didn't respond. However, seeing his old nature creep back up in his face, she did feel a bit more comfortable. "You shouldn't go mining alone, Einstein." she sighed, placing a dainty hand on her hip. "Not one of your brightest schemes."The squirmy feeling was leaving her, and she was beginning to return to her old self again. Either way, she was pretty unpleasant to be around.Turning to face Madison, she eyed her up and down. She was strongly built; her body was very womanly (of course...) but her attire was not. She sure looked capable. But she didn't like the idea. Not one bit.She looked down at Skye, who was obviously still in pain. She didn't know why, but every time she looked at that ankle, that evil squirmy monster came back again. She wanted to say no."...Sure." she said bluntly. No smile, no welcome, nothing.PLACE: Argentum ac Aurum TAGGED: Skye & Madison WEARING: this. LYRICS: Pink

Well, duh. Of course mining alone wasn't the smartest idea he'd ever come up with. But, at the same time, it hadn't seemed that dangerous when walking in there. Then... well. Bam. All the way down, down, down into the deep depths. Go figure, huh? His luck was running on empty.

"Really? Great! I'll work on getting a room set up for her in a few days." He wasn't stupid - rushing around and moving around as he wasn't wouldn't do anything good for anyone. Patience was a virtue he'd just have to work on learning, yes he would.

Glancing around the kitchen, he looked thoughtful. "I should be set to move around if I use the counter. Why don't you two go into town and get some groceries? I'll whip up a great meal if you do."

Madison couldn't help but smile as Adelaide approved of her working on a farm. "Thank you Adelaide. You won't regret hiring me." she said with a toothy grin. Madison was truly grateful to them for giving her a job. And now a room?! This was a great day. "You'd realy do that?" she asked smiling. "Thanks Skye." she said grinning.

"And don't worry. I'll go get the groceries. Anything specific?" she asked.

"Just the basics. Bread, milk, eggs, butter, cheese, coffee, tea, some fruits and vegetables, chicken, ground beef, sandwich meat... oh, get some pasta too. I'll make us up spaghetti and meatballs for dinner then. Could use garlic powder and some fresh seafood if they have it. ... Okay, maybe more then the basics." Quickly Skye reached across the table and grabbed for a pad of paper, jotting down a relatively long list of things he needed. Winter was coming up after all. It had been a quick enough trip to go from the mainland to the island with Madison, but he'd rather have things on hand in case it came up.

The island itself would remain decently warm even in winter most likely. Sure, sometimes it'd get cold... but that wasn't a huge issue. Maybe he'd plant some fruit trees in the field as well. Would be nice, right? Of course!
