Welcome to Light of the Harvest Moon! We are a Harvest Moon based RP forum set on Castanet Island. We have dozens of canon characters from all the games to pick from, but you can always make your own character as well. Feel free to look around our forums and see what insanity the members have been up too.
Slowly, the snow has melted away and the green grass has been poking it's way up. Flowers have begun blooming again, the trees are leafing, and the fish are swimming. However, the entire island is still not at ease. With the continued search for the missing Harvest Sprites, some of the villagers run around frantic worried about what will happen to the island if they don't find all of the sprites. Also, some villagers have noticed that the sea seems...different. Not as gentle as it used to be. However, not that many villagers are worried about it now though. Is it an omen of things to come?

lay down in the water,we're all sons and daughters, rest your head on the altar, oh, come lay down in the water. piroutte, single step, won't you spin me around the room, like a marionette? and lonely maestro spin me real slow, I just need something to get me through the thick of it, I have everything, from time to time, oh we had everything. One deep breath in, and a light exhale out. Ophelia closed her eyes tightly before grabbing onto her bag. This was it.She had done everything for this meeting. She had dropped her life back home, packed up all of her things, said goodbye to her family, and traveled halfway across the world for this meeting. It was important, though she didn't want to admit it, and despite her slight weariness from the very thought of it, she knew she couldn't escape it. This was her future, her present, and apparently had been her past as well. She wasn't sure how long this plan had been around, but for all she knew, it could have been around since her birth. And that bothered her. She would never utter the words outloud, but this entire situation was just not pleasant. It took everything she'd grown up dreaming of, freedom, love, romance, happiness, and threw it right out of the window. While she wasn't one to think so pessimistically, she knew this just wasn't for her. But her parents were more important to her than anything in life, so for them, she'd do anything. And that, apparently, included signing her life over to a man she'd never met.The blond sighed, loosening her shoulders in the process She was so tense, so nervous, but she figured it wasn't worth it. After all, tension wouldn't change a thing. She'd still be here, tense or not, waiting for her future husband, eyes turned towards the sea.words: 889 notes: i love them already

What a perfect beginning, to an end.
Thick, ominous gray clouds hung low in the sky, nearly suffocating the sun and refusing to let it shine. It spoke of the icy rain that would soon fall, in order to embrace everyone in the reminder of an early winter. Cole MacFarland walked steadily, but slowly, across the perfect picturesque white sands of Harmonica Bay, his mouth set into a firm, unyielding straight line.
There was a certain itch in his left leg, a tightening of skin, as it complained about the sudden drop of temperature that had taken Castanet Valley over the past handful of days. It ached, to the very bone. Though, it was ignored, pressed out of his mind, due to more pressing, disturbing, matters at hand.
As of this morning, Cole was particularly unhappy. He could even go so far to say that he was, in some ways, actually quite angry. However, he had ultimately resigned to the news that Royston, his associate, had brought him. He did understand the man's reasoning, and he could begrudgingly admit that this would be the best, most effective, route to take.
Cole had every intention of sealing this off like a business deal, a bargain, in which both sides would gain. But, there in lied the argument, for he was uncertain of whether this woman had anything to gain from the arrangement of their families union. He felt the black devil in this, swooping down from the dark gray skies to snatch the innocent young woman and steal her freedom forever.
However, she was far from innocent. Cole's face hardened for a flickering second before it returned to indifference. It was for the better, and, he supposed, it was also what he deserved. In such a small valley home, he doubted she would have the opportunity to indulge herself in an affair, but if the occasion ever arose...
Well, these were things to better discuss with his bride-to-be. And there was a lot of discussion to be had.

lay down in the water,we're all sons and daughters, rest your head on the altar, oh, come lay down in the water. piroutte, single step, won't you spin me around the room, like a marionette? and lonely maestro spin me real slow, I just need something to get me through the thick of it, I have everything, from time to time, oh we had everything. It was remarkably cold for what was supposed to be a lukewarm season in a small, country land. She hadn't contemplated the weather, hadn't even researched what to wear or bring or anything of the sort - she had simply up and left. It was odd, the urgency of it all, and how her parents never actually mentioned the deal to her at all, but she knew it was for the better; they were probably rather upset with losing her, anyway. And, despite this all seeming a bit surreal, the entire ordeal never once seemed wrong to her. The lack of communication between her parents and herself over the situation, the hasty packing and leaving she had to do, and the short notice that she had on learning about everything all seemed normal, okay to her. She never once doubted, never questioned; if it was what she needed to do to make her parents proud, or her family happy, then she considered it done before it was even initiated. There was, however, a part of her inside, fighting and clawing and screaming to get out, yelling that she didn't want this, that she wanted more. She had always dreamed of a fairytale love, a romance to end all romances. She wanted someone to love, to hold, she wanted mutual care and trust and passion. She wouldn't get that now. She would get a mutual agreement, but probably nothing more. It was terrifying and heartbreaking at the same time, but it was something she had learned to cope with. Ophelia wrapped her own arms around herself, hugging tightly and attempting to warm her body up. She had to shake away these thoughts, she knew. No amount of thinking or brooding over it would change the fact. The woman shook her blond head, her eyes closing and her body turning away from the sea. There was nothing more she could do with her life at this point, her fate had been sealed. And despite the unhappiness she felt about it, the sad pinch in the bottom of her stomach, she was happy. Her family would be okay. With a last shake of her head, the only lonely remaining thought falling into the sand, Ophelia opened her eyes, a figure coming into view, blurry and unfocused. Light hair and lighter eyes shone through, then a body, then a face, and while she knew nothing prior of her fiancee, something told her that this was it. She tilted her head, her lips forming a polite smile, her shivering arms dropping to her side. She stepped forward, balancing on heels she had grown to learn to walk in, and met the man halfway. "Excuse me sir, but is it you that I am waiting for?"words: 889 notes: i love them already
