"Ah! Did you say that already? Oh, I promise I was listening! I'm just scatterbrained is all," she said quickly, waving her hands a bit. She was so easily distracted, she forgot things like it was her job; short-term memory was not her best quality.Gazing at him absent-minded, she inhaled softly and let out an inaudible sigh. His soft blue eyes made her feel very comfortable being herself and doing odd, spontaneous things that crossed her mind. The orange lighting made him somewhat of a silhouette, standing tall and proud in front of her. His broad shoulders made him appear very... well, masculine! How silly of no one to every say that to him. If she were a photographer, this would be an excellent picture!He was staring at her - she noticed this. But he turned away and his face turned pink. She flashed another friendly smile to him. She wasn't sure why he seemed embarrassed, but she wanted him to be comfortable in her presence.Most of all, she wanted to be his friend; she didn't have many here."I have an idea," she said with a smile, approaching him from her stance near the alter. She placed one of her little hands on his sleeve and gently tugged him along as she walked into one of the pews."We're going to say a prayer to the goddess. For two things; that you get your flower shop, and that we become good friends." she said calmly, kneeling down in the pew."Oh - - if that's okay, I mean..." she added quickly, not wanting to seem too pushy. As she came closer, he looked up at her again, his face still a little pink. He just wasn't very smooth around girls, especially cute ones, and he didn't want to do or say anything to mess up what could potentially be the start of a good friendship. So often he had inadvertently driven girls away with a sentence or action that was misinterpreted. But when she came up to him and took his sleeve, he followed, kneeling next to her. "A prayer?" he asked, his expression a little worried. "I would like to be your friend, but... I don't..." He hesitated, fidgeting. How could he say this? He was a little embarrassed to be admitting something like that to a girl like her, especially since the Goddess seemed to be very important to her. "I don't know how to pray," he said finally, ducking his head.

What? Why not? Why didn't he want to pray? He didn't want to be her friend! He thought she was weird! He thought she was creepy and pushy and...Oh, no. Nevermind.Anetta's face, though surprised, was obviously quite relieved when Fyffe gave her the reason he couldn't say a prayer with her. "Is that all? Oh, don't worry. I'll help you." she said kindly, a bright smile on her face. She leaned her head down, getting in his view even though his head was ducked down as an expression of shame."Just fold your hands like this," she said, intertwining her fingers and resting them on the back of the pew in front of them. "Praying isn't a science. You don't have to know how, it's just something you... you think, or say, or feel. Just talk to someone up there - I promise they'll listen," she chuckled, nodding to him.She thought for a moment, though. "Ooh, I wish I knew the name of the goddess of this valley. Fyffe smiled a little in embarrassment. "Heh, sorry, I just never learned. There wasn't a church in the city where I grew up." Anetta was so confident about what she was saying, he couldn't help but feel a bit more comfortable, even if he didn't really know what he was doing. He looked over at her so he could copy her, clasping his hands together like she did and bowing his head slightly. He paused when she asked him what the Goddess's name was. Did she have a name? He couldn't remember. "Um... Harvest Goddess?" he suggested, laughing a little. "That's all I can think of."

No church? The thought seemed crazy to her, but then again, her father was a redneck; well, so was she.Peridot eyes never seeming to lose their glittery cheerfulness, she nodded to him. "Ah, really? You're probably right; either way, it won't matter. I don't think she'll be offended." she said confidently, having great faith in the heavenly beings."So," she began, bowing her head and closing her eyes. Her long, dark lashes touched her high cheek bones which glowed a healthy pink hugh at all times. "Let's start." she smiled.She took a relaxing breath."Dear Harvest Goddess... I know you don't know us very well, but we have come to visit you. We have two favors to ask of you. Fyffe is an aspiring florist, and we would be incredibly grateful if you were to help him achieve his dream by helping him get the flower shop in town. He was glad she wasn't put-off by his lack of know-how when it came to church things. She seemed so much more sure of herself when she spoke of the Harvest Goddess. He wondered briefly what had happened in her life to make her this way. If he had lived in a place like this as a child, with a church nearby, would he have grown to love it the way he loved flowers? He could only wonder. He closed his eyes as she did, though he wanted to keep them open, looking at her peaceful face. The words flowed from her mouth without hesitation, straight from her heart. They weren't beautiful in and of themselves, but knowing they were heartfelt made them seem like poetry. When she spoke about them staying friends, he smiled. He didn't think the Goddess would have to help them to do that. Fyffe opened his eyes again and looked at her. "That was beautiful." The light from the sunset was fading as the sky darkened towards night. Time sure had gone quickly! "It's getting late," he said, standing up again. "I should probably be getting back to the inn..."

"Beautiful?" she repeated, giggles tagging along with the word. "Thank you, it wasn't really anything special..." she smiled, placing a hand on the side of her neck. The compliment caused her face to redden a bit; was he just saying that? He must've been.As Fyffe mentioned it was getting late, her attention was suddenly drawn to the windows that seemed to be spreading less and less light across the floor and pews. Surprised, she blinked her peridot eyes a few times."Ah, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to keep you here." she apologized quickly, worry capturing her soft expression. "Will you be okay going back? That's where I'm headed too, but I might stay here for a little while longer." she asked, but quickly regretting her words.Of course he'd be okay getting home! He smiled down at her, chuckling a little at her embarrassment. "It's okay, I had a good time," he said. "I hope we bump into each other again soon." When she expressed concern about him going back to the inn by himself, he laughed again. This whole experience had really calmed him, and he felt much less shy around Anetta than he had at first. "I should be fine. You take care of yourself, though!" He smiled and waved one last time before turning and leaving the church, heading back towards in the inn in town.
