CASTANET ISLAND
Welcome to Light of the Harvest Moon! We are a Harvest Moon based RP forum set on Castanet Island. We have dozens of canon characters from all the games to pick from, but you can always make your own character as well. Feel free to look around our forums and see what insanity the members have been up too.

Slowly, the snow has melted away and the green grass has been poking it's way up. Flowers have begun blooming again, the trees are leafing, and the fish are swimming. However, the entire island is still not at ease. With the continued search for the missing Harvest Sprites, some of the villagers run around frantic worried about what will happen to the island if they don't find all of the sprites. Also, some villagers have noticed that the sea seems...different. Not as gentle as it used to be. However, not that many villagers are worried about it now though. Is it an omen of things to come?

Fall 15th, 7:00 PM
Mood-Setting Song

Fyffe Bloom had only just arrived in Castanet Valley, but it was late and the shops were closed, so the red-haired man decided to wander into town and get acquainted with his new home. The setting sun cast its fading rays upon the cloudy sky, turning it a myriad of pinks, reds, and oranges, as he made his way up the stone steps toward the church grounds, hands in his pockets. He'd seen the greenery up on the hill from the dock. As he got closer, the beauty of the tiered garden and its flowing waterway took his breath away.

He stopped to let his eyes soak it all in, smiling as he did so. Any town that could have such beauty in it was the perfect place for him. Though it was Fall, he knew the cherry trees scattered about would be lovely in the Spring, and he closed his eyes for a moment to imagine it. Yes, he knew he would feel right at home here in Castanet.

you are sunrise, you are blue skies. how would i know morning if i knew notmidnight ? Cold, cold, cold!Winter was coming on fast, wasn't it? The weather had been cloudy and murky all this week. Young Anetta let out a sigh as she continued what was supposed to be a leisurely walk. She clutched her brown coat closer to her skin. She was a very fragile girl, and didn't boast much body fat for muscle, making it a bit hard to retain heat. That, and she was very little height-wise. This only added to her girlish charm, though, so that was a plus... kind of. Right? But she came here for a reason...She wanted so badly to see the church here!Yes, if Anetta hadn't so badly wanted a baby and a husband, she'd probably have become a nun, because she ADORED religion. She was fascinated by her own beloved goddess, and was just dying to "meet" the goddess of this valley.Eagerly, she quickened her pace towards the doors of the church, one big brown boot in front of the other. Her peridot eyes were already fixated on the extravagant structures that were outside the church - what could be inside? She pushed open the door....Well, she tried.Ha! Little Anetta couldn't get the door open! She huffed in frustration, pressing all of her body weight against the heavy door... It creaked open a crack, but she slid right back to where she was. What? Was Anetta really that weak? She let out a groan. "Open, please! I want to meet you!" she cried out, pounding her fist on the large door.PLACE: Church TAGGED: Fyffe WEARING: this LYRICS: Nicole Nordman TEMPLATE: by lewis.@caution2.0

The bright red-haired guy was startled out of his reverie when he heard a girl shout. He looked in the direction of her voice and saw a young girl with light brown hair in a yellow dress and brown jacket pounding on the door of the church in frustration. He blinked his deep blue eyes in surprise, wondering how she had appeared in the area without him noticing. This place must have had more of a calming effect on him than he'd realized.

Taking his hands out of his pockets and smoothing his blue plaid shirt in a nervous effort to appear more presentable, he walked toward her and opened the door easily. It was heavy, but it was no problem for him, since his arms were quite strong from all the work he did lifting boxes and merchandise back in his parents' shop in the city.

"Um, here you go," he said shyly, avoiding eye contact, his voice deep but quiet. He wondered who she was going to meet, but didn't say anything. He had a hard time talking to strangers, or even acquaintances for that matter. He simply wasn't used to initiating conversation.

ANETTA JENOVE_______________________________you are sunrise, you are blue skies. how would i know the morning if i knew notm i d n i g h t ?Anetta found herself stumbling a bit as the door suddenly felt much lighter against her wimpy arms.Yes! She'd finally gotten stronger!Or not.She lifted her head to face the kind man who had helped her, craning her neck backwards because she was so darned short. Startled, her peridot eyes jumped a bit. "Oh! Uh, thank you!" she replied in an anxious fashion. It was obvious the girl was embarrassed by her pink cheeks and quirky movements.Shoot! Stupid Anetta, not considering the fact that there may well be other people inside the church. This was so unlike her! She was never rowdy; she just assumed that nobody was ever in the church... like in Viridian Valley. What a sad assumption, Anetta. She stood there for a moment, awkwardly with her feet next to each other and hands clutching the hem of her dress at her sides. She was highly embarrassed by this display, and felt she should apologize for her bizarre behavior."I-I'm sorry if I disturbed you," said the girl meekly. Her eyes were fixated on him, scanning the blue sapphires staring back at her.She took a teeny tiny baby step forward, barely taking her foot off the ground. She stopped though, waiting for his forgiveness.- x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x -PLACE: Church TAGGED: Fyffe WEARING: this LYRICS: Nicole Nordman

If Fyffe felt awkward, the girl seemed ten times more so. Her cheeks flushed and she clutched at the hem of her yellow dress, then apologized for bothering him. She looked up at him with such an adorable expression that he couldn't help but smile, blushing and scratching the back of his head in embarrassment with the hand that wasn't holding the door open.

"No no, that's okay," he said quickly. "I wasn't doing anything important, anyway."

He hesitated for a moment, peeking in the church door and seeing nothing but the first few pews and darkness. There didn't seem to be anyone else in there. Struggling inwardly with his shyness, he gathered his courage and continued their conversation.

"I don't think anybody's here. Who were you coming to meet? A boy?"

Gah! Stupid! Why did he say that? His face turned almost as red as his hair and he again averted his gaze. He always managed to say the most inappropriate things!

But, then again, he could be lying to make her feel better. She blinked at him, unsure of what to feel at the moment.Quit over thinking everything! Gosh! She watched him peer into the church, then right back at her, her eyes following him very carefully. She was still very embarrassed, but relieved the hem of her dress. She folded them loosely at her front instead."A boy?" Anetta repeated, taken back a bit. Her face turned pink once more, though it was less noticeable this time. "N-no! I'm just here to visit, all by myself," she told him, a smile that showed a mixture of cheer and awkwardness. She took a long pause for a moment."Oh! she cried suddenly, "You must've heard me talking... I meant the goddess," she said, withdrawing her cheerfulness a bit. Oh, this was embarrassing, so so very embarrassing! He was going to think she was a freak, or a weirdo, or... a nun!She looked at him hopefully... He seemed embarrassed himself, too. This made her feel a bit more comfortable, knowing she wasn't the only one in the world that said silly things accidentally. She smiled at the blushing red-head.- x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x -PLACE: Church TAGGED: Fyffe WEARING: this LYRICS: Nicole Nordman

Fyffe hadn't been in Castanet Valley for more than an hour, but he had lived in a city not far from it, so he knew all about the local lore. He had always been curious about the Harvest Goddess and the Harvest Sprites. People said they only revealed themselves to those with pure hearts. Briefly, Fyffe wondered if his heart was pure enough...

"The Goddess, huh?" he asked. "I thought she lived in a pond somewhere. At least, that's what I always heard."

He smiled, a genuine one without awkwardness this time. The two of them seemed to have a lot in common, what with all the shyness and embarrassing moments and blushing and whatnot. He realized then that he hadn't introduced himself.

"Oh! Um, my name is Fyffe Bloom. What's yours?"

Yes, he was certainly aware of the goddess! Her face showed more cheer at each passing moment."Well, yes! She does, but... She's everywhere, too." Anetta explained things terribly, and this was a perfect example. Here we go again. She panicked momentarily, realizing how stupid that just sounded.Grr."Oh! My name is Anetta Jenove. It's a pleasure to meet you!" She smiled, giving him a a sort of a nod/bow sort of a greeting. She always did this, having a sort of an underlying inferiority issue."Hm, Fyffe Bloom... That's a cool name," she said thoughtfully, obviously just saying whatever came to mind without truly thinking it out. She didn't really catch herself on that one, though, so she had no time to beat herself up about it.She decided to step further into the church, feeling a little more comfortable with the whole situation. "So, what are you doing here, Fyffe?" she asked, "O-oh, if you don't mind me asking..." she added quickly, not wanting to intrude on any of his personal matters. People came to churches a lot when they were troubled; usually that was the only time they went, sadly.- x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x -PLACE: Church TAGGED: Fyffe WEARING: this LYRICS: Nicole Nordman

The red-haired guy didn't really know much about deities; the intricacies of religion stumped him. So when the girl said the Goddess was everywhere, he just took her word for it. Matters like that were always confusing to him.

When she told him her name, she inclined her head a little in a cute sort of way that made him smile and blush ever so slightly. She was definitely a girly-girl, this Anetta, but he kind of liked that. She reminded him of flowers, delicate and pretty.

"Cool? Oh, I dunno... I guess it kind of fits me, though," he said when she commented on his name. After all the initial awkwardness, it was getting easier to talk to her, thankfully. He didn't usually like to start long conversations with people, but he was glad he had this time. He followed her a little ways into the church, opening the other door to let the light of the sunset in.

"I-I just got here, actually. I moved here to take a job at the florist shop, but everything's closed right now, so I thought I'd just take a look around. The church grounds are lovely, even in the Fall when things aren't so green. I can tell it must be beautiful in Spring." He stopped, suddenly aware that he'd said an awful lot. He tended to do that when he talked about nature. "B-but I'm sorry, I'm rambling..."

ANETTA JENOVE_______________________________you are sunrise, you are blue skies. how would i know the morning if i knew notm i d n i g h t ?Anetta found herself nodding quite a bit, agreeing that his name did indeed suit him quite well. "Yes, it does! You're bright, like a flower in bloom," she said happily. However, this happiness was short-lived when she heard her own words.Did she really just say that? How awful! You don't tell a guy he's like a flower! That's so stupid, Anetta. Goodness.Angry with herself, she made a face which was also visible to Fyffe. It was one of disgust, in a way.As Fyffe spoke on about the scenery, Anetta found herself captivated by his words. She looked into his deep azure eyes, and she could instantly tell that he cared deeply for nature. After all, he did own a flower shop! She looked disappointed when he'd stopped."Oh...? No, you're not," she smiled sweetly, "You're absolutely right about everything - Fall is beautiful! It's one of my favorite seasons, because of all the colors and things..." she continued, her voice trailing off dreamily."I just moved here too - I can't wait to see everything in the Spring time. I don't have a job yet, but I want to be a teacher..." she said, her smile fading as she reached the end of her statement. She suddenly remembered she could never be a teacher. Her comment about his name made him smile, but it vanished when she made a face. What was she thinking about that made her look so upset? Since she didn't say anything, he simply blinked with a blank expression and let it go.

"Fall is lovely, but I like Spring the best. Cherry blossoms always seem to majestic to me."

When she mentioned wanting to be a teacher, the cheerfulness left her again. He scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. He hated to see people unhappy. In Anetta's case, it was like a beautiful flower was wilting inexplicably. He felt he needed to say something to cheer her up, but he didn't know what.

"U-um, a teacher, huh? It's nice to want to pass on knowledge to the next generation. I'm sure that profession is always in demand, right?"

ANETTA JENOVE_______________________________you are sunrise, you are blue skies. how would i know the morning if i knew notm i d n i g h t ?Anetta was a tad bipolar, per say. She was easily moved by others and her own thoughts, and went from being happy to sad in but a moment. It was a strange habit of hers, and though she views it as a fatal flaw, most people just see it as a quirky characteristic. However, he looked confused when she made the face. He smiled, too - so he wasn't insulted? Maybe she should clarify."Heheh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean, um... You're not a flower, you're manly!" she said happily, hoping that would fix things a bit. She wished she made sense more. That would be nice."I love Spring too!" she laughed, "All of the seasons are beautiful in their own way - it's so hard to pick one that's my favorite." she said truthfully, moving her hands for emphasis."Yeahh," she sighed, pouting a bit at the fact her dream would never come true.Brightening up a bit, her eyes began to scan the inside of the church. "Wow, it really is beautiful in here... Did you come to admire it too?" she asked, turning to face him again. Fyffe was very friendly and nice, and his shyness was actually quite charming, and she could tell he was paying close attention to her. At this thought, she smiled at him, walking deeper into the church.- x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x -PLACE: Church TAGGED: Fyffe WEARING: this LYRICS: Nicole Nordman

"Manly?"

He blinked for a moment, blushing slightly. Nobody had ever called him 'manly' before. Did she really mean that, or was she just trying to make up for saying he was like a flower? Somehow, he didn't think she was capable of lying like that. Well, it was always good to know he wasn't entirely girly.

"I've never been called manly before," he said, smiling and scratching the back of his head again. They went farther inside the church, the light of the sunset casting its orange glow across the floor to the altar. It was indeed lovely.

"I wasn't intending to come in here, no, but I might as well. I've got a few hours to kill before I go hole up at the inn."

But you're so tall!" she giggled, emphasizing this by the way she had to crane her neck to look into his deep blue eyes.Truly, this was a shock for Anetta. All men were manly to her, really; even the gay ones! Not that she thought Fyffe was gay. Not that it would be a problem--Stop thinking, stop thinking. She nodded to him. "Ahh, I see. It really is captivating, huh?" she smiled. The orange hugh that ran across the floor caught her peridot eyes. She began to tip-toe along it, keeping her arms spread out next to her to keep balance."You're a florist, right? I'd love to come by and see your flowers some time. I love flowers!" she said merrily, wobbling around a bit as she balanced on her imaginary balance-beam.

He laughed a little at her comment about his height. "Yeah, I guess I am pretty tall. Always have been."

He put his hands in his pockets as he stood watching her tip-toe along the strip of sunlight, her arms outstretched like a tightrope walker. She was so cute and spontaneous.

"Oh, well... I'm not a florist here just yet, but I'm going to go see if I can get the job tomorrow," he said.

At that moment, she reached the altar and turned to face him. The glow of the sunset illuminated her long brown hair and set her green eyes to sparkling. Her smiling face looked radiant in the dimming light. He nearly gasped at the sight of her, and he felt his face flush and his heart beat slightly faster. She was so beautiful and innocent.

Catching himself staring, he looked away quickly to avoid seeming rude.
