haha Didn't see a post for Palace Playland yet, so figured I'd make one.
Saw on youtube that you posted a video for Power Surge!
If you get a chance to go back this year you should do some video of the new ride Adrenalin. Looks fantastic!
I operate the kiddie rides near it lol

Always enjoy goes to Palace Playland, the last remaining seaside park in this neck of the woods. We at CLP are open seven days a week, but as of right now only 10AM to 4PM until later this month, when we close at 10PM each night. What rides have you been running. It seems like you have to be in college or a college graduate to run one of the big rides here. One such operator was being assigned to the DiVencis Dream, his reponse OH is that the big twirly thing near the lake. Yesterday met a fellow carney who had worked for Butler Amusements in Calif. He has Giant Wheel experience, were do they assign him Kiddie Land. I'll never figure these guys out. unsure.gif ....F.M.

They always seem to put the older Operaters at kiddie land. I think they feel the parents will be more comfortable with an adult operating the ride there child's on. My sister in law however did work in kiddie land often and in in her 20's.

I'd love to hear that response to my face from one of the managers, just because were older doesn't mean we should all have the Grandpa appleal. This was always my beef when I worked at the park. Some of us have paid our dues, I myself think that it is time to graduate. Some of the group leaders can't even tell you who the owners are. All I am trying to say that if you have experience use it. Even the foriegn students are getting better choices. Good thing the beach is all condos. Thankyou for listening to my ranting and raving. angry.gif ....F.M.

Ya well i think the foreign students get it a little cushy. I agree it isn't right and It's my observation and mostly a guess I have never been told this. But for some reason it happens. But I think people should be moved around. keeps things interesting and the job itself more interesting.

Just a bit ticked off right now at New Englands self proclaimed Number One Fun Capital. I will give them a little more time then Freddy speaks up. There are enough assistants in there to speak to, not like the old days. As the add goes it's suppose to be a fun place to work a fun job. It's nice to deal with the older public to, for a change. They ask you to put in for certain job up grades then they drag their #%%&% (feet) indifferent13.gif ....F.M.

Just got back from PP. My observations .

Went on the Adrenalin , VERY good ride tho a short ride cycle , it' s a Technical Park Street Fighter and judging from the supports i think they bought it from someone in England as it says "Hornes Pleasure Fairs", it occupies the space of the Tilt-A-Whirl which is gone as is the kiddie boats and Tornado .
Galaxi was down as they havent put up the quoue fencing yet and it appears they added more paint to it .

The Drop Zone thing wasnt running , at least while i was there .

The Tilt hasn't been removed from the park, it is now located to the right of the Flume ride. smile.gif ....F.M.
P.S. Any news on the Sun Wheel? I remember that playing the fair circuit on it's way up north, when they first bought it.

You need to rely less on Screamscape. Half the info on that site is not confirmed and often not true. The crazy dance is gone for now but they hope to bring it back. The last e-mail I got from then mentioned Nothing about removing yo-yo and malachite5 said he saw it running.

My favorite ride here is Power Surge, I work the kiddie rides.
Tilt and yo yo are still there, Tilt behind the Log flume, and yo yo next to terminator. YEs Tornado and Crazy dance are gone, but Adrenalin and Drop zone make up for it!

Im kinda disapointed that in the evening all the foreign people come in and most of them hate their job so its not as fun when you have the rude operators, but some of them are GREAT!
I only work the kiddie rides since im under 18 but i love working there and can't wait till next year when i can hopefully get the thrillers.

They do put some of the older people in kiddie land and all the foriegn people get the thrillers, liek today two new people came in..Adrenalin and Power Surge. We were all like OMG what?! angry.gif

I think that I"ll be visiting Palace Playland this weekend. Don't let the kiddies get you down, I know that I steady diet of them is not fun.
Usually the foreign students are under some kind of contract, and work some crazy hours. They do the same here teach them the Starblaster, Cannonball, and such, the forever faithfulls get the MiniDinos and Alpine Swings. The one thing that I think that is tough for you has to be the direct sun all day, at least we have the trees and the tons of shade. You do have the nice operator seats, the stools we have can be tough on the butt. smile.gif ....F.M.

Lol! The kiddies don't bother me too too much, I think they're cute, and usually funny, except like today i had cars and cycles and two kids got in a fist fight confused71.gif
BUT the person that was covering my break got in just in time for that one and i just went haha have fun with that! BYEEE :P

Did you guys come visit?
And yes, the direct sunlight is horrible! Ya get sick if you don't drink enough water. The umbrellas done help much, and i had cars and cycles all weekend long so that's a ride where you don't stop while you're on the clock. But hey, It's a good job that i love, so enough complaining! Lol, it was nice today =]
