Has anyone been to this park in the last few years. Is it worth even going to?

We do Storyland, Santa's Village and Clark's every year... would this be any use in visiting?
The reviews I have read so far are very mixed.

Your esteemed input is valued!

How to answer this. I have been to the park only twice. last visit was 2003 before that it was the 80's. It's an OK attraction with some things worth visiting but A bit pricey. I did hear that the tickets are 2 days for price of 1.

There are a few worth wile attraction. The coaster, Laser tag. I heard they added a Carousel at the end of last season. There shoes on water slide(Timber splash) that is really good. Go carts are pretty good.

The park is worth visiting at least once. Whether you return would depend on the desire to do so after you visit.

Thanks for the input...
They also seem to have a mini golf course.. so
for a little over $20 per person in my family (wife, son, me, daughter is free)

Small waterpark
bumper boats
lazer tag
go carts
pony rides
small coaster
shows (talking pony, etc)
mini golf
paddle boats
car ride

not too bad...

Just wondering if it is clean, kept up...

Some of the Museum/Saves carts and sleighs could use some clean up. but outside of that they do a good gob with teh property. Dirt walkways can get a bit muddy on a rainy day. I stopped by to take some shots in September and saw a lot of replaced wood along the main town.

The car ride is a kids one. but very restrictive.

Mini golf is nothing special really low end simple course they added in teh 80's.

Bumper boats are fun, good size pond.

There aren't too many reviews on Six gun. But you can find my reviews and some others on Parks at Theme Park Critic:

My visit to Six Gun City in the late '80's was enough to turn me off of it. It was just a struggling park with a few mediocre attractions, and judging by the comments on TripAdvisor.com, I don't think that has changed drastically despite the additions they have made. I probably shouldn't say that without visiting again, but it is the impression I have. It was fun at the time when I was young, but even then I wasn't anxious to return like I looked forward to returning to other parks in the area (all the ones you mentioned that your family enjoys. As Mrceagle said, if you visit, you will probably enjoy your day enough to make it worthwhile, but you probably won't return annually like you may other parks.

Edit: After writing this I found this thread which may be helpful.

More ammo for the "no" column on this...
Many of the comments from the site you gave (score MRCeagle here!) plus a few others were from a few years ago and you would think the owner would try to fix it up.

Whenever we go to Santa's Village, we pass the park and say, why are there so few cars there? How does it stay in business?

The coaster is out front and might get a couple of folks to stop for that (does look sorta fun) but Santa's Village is so beautiful inside and the staff is awesome there...

Storyland is also such an automatic good day... we are hoping that our older son will keep enjoying it while his little sister gets many years enjoyment from it...

We might just go up the Mt. Wash. Auto Road and hit some mini gold instead of Six Gun...

I tend to over do the ... ...

I feel fortunate to be the first of four children with a range of ten years because I got to enjoy StoryLand as a child myself and as an older sibling with my younger siblings through the years. We then visited together without our parents several times. Now my sister and I enjoy bringing friends' children to the park. We simply ask to "borrow" their kids for the day so we can visit StoryLand, revisit our youth, and see the joy in their faces like we had. I hope your son never outgrows StoryLand.

Interestingly, I enjoy Santa's Village without children. It's a very diverse park for anyone young at heart while I think StoryLand is more appropriate when kids are in tow.

I got some confirmation that the par is offering a return pass. If you have a few Santa's trips planed might be worth it. I figure I can pay one get 2 trips hit the coaster a few times maybe a go cart ride, laser tag and finish teh day at Santa's

On a side not Her is a recent trip report with a very unfavorable review. of Six gun:

Last call for anyone who might recommend Six Gun City... otherwise it's a no go...

Will substitue a trip up Mt. Washington and maybe a Whale's Tale visit instead...

I would recommend looking to the attractions. They will be more of a day filler and cheaper then the Mt Washington Drive.

Also if you in teh Lincoln area and looking for a place to eat breakfast lunch or Dinner I would Recommend Britney's cafe.

http://www.kancmotorlodge.com/cafe.html

New Owners just took over and renovated. but it's the same great food and service as before. very laid back and enjoyable place to eat with the family.

Went to Santa's V. yesterday (Saturday - more to follow on that) and on the way back, there seemed more cars than ususal at Six Gun Village.

It would cost us $64.50 to do Six Gun (daughter is free) based on $21.50 each

Mt. Wash would be $37.00 on the Auto Road, but not sure we will be doing that.

Minigolf, pool?, shopping for today then 3PM into Storyland, return there Monday

Then Lincoln and Clark's on Tuesday. I will consider the cafe. Sounds great!

It is a great place to eat. We discovered the place for breakfast back in the 80's while camping. We had run out of propane in the middle of the night and weened a worm place to eat. The worm place to eat became a tradition.

good think is you can fine something for everyone to eat. There is a selection of foods from the previews owner. the new owner brought in flat bread pizzas to the menu.

I woudl recommended avoiding a place galled Gordi's. I think I spelled it right. The Large wood carved lobster out front is very inviting but the food isnt that great and it's very expensive.

I look forward to reading your trip reports form your trip and hope it continues to be a good one.

I may be a bit late, but I was going to agree on a no go for SGC. I didn't think the park was worth admission when I went four years ago, I was eleven with my Grandparents.

I recommend (if you're still reading this) Woodstock Station for dinner (a bit pricey, but the food is great and its a favorite hot spot of the locals and a great place to stay in the winter!) and Pegs Breakfast (just down the street from Clarks/Woodstock Station) for Breakfast.

your thinking of the same place. the food is ok, Salad bar is always a plus, but the food is very expensive. My friend and I both settles on meals to keep the price down. we still ended spending over 30 dollars for 2 people.

Did not go to Six Gun

Went to Santa's and Storyland twice (trip reports to come later)

A 2 and a half year old makes things . . . ummmm. . . interesting

We actually skipped Clark's this year sad.gif and instead went to the Squam Lake Science Center

We stayed in Bartlett at the Grand Summit (nice!) and ate 1 night at the Red Fox (kid friendly) and the Red Parka (not so much, but good food)

Pizza from Matty B's

Ate in some...

Good recommendations for Lincoln!

Thanks

Sad you skipped Clarks, but thats me...what else to expect haha

Is the Red Parka the resturant down the road from the intersection by Dairy Queen and Storyland? The back patio's fence is made of ski poles?

When your leaving the park, at the intersection take a right. it's right there on your left. I'm sure the name is slight playing off the nearby Story land. Little red riding hood wears a res parka.

The Red Parka actually gets its name from the parkas the ski patrols used back in the day (some areas still use them). They are more geared to the ski crowd that is there from November to April/May vs the Storyland folks...

Wicked friendly staff! They are really nice there. They have a part of the restaruant that is an old rail car they call the Skiboose that you can dine in (to get away from crying kids). I recommend the place, but it gets very busy.

As previously reported, Six Gun City is starting their own Halloween season this year, Ghost Town at Six Gun City:
http://www.ghosttownatsixguncity.com/

QUOTE
This October, new Halloween tradition will begin in the White Mountains of New Hampshire: Ghost Town at Six Gun City!

Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October, Six Gun City will be transformed into a "spooktacular" Halloween adventure! The town will be decorated with pumpkins, corn stalks, and Halloween décor, and will be eerily lit for the evening hours. Ghost Town at Six Gun City will offer lots of kid-friendly activities for our younger visitors as well as plenty of scarier attractions sure to provoke screams from adults and teens.

Kids and families will enjoy unlimited free rides, including go-karts (weather permitting), laser tag, shows, and activities. There'll be trick or treating, of course, and a chance to decorate Halloween theme cookies and enter a witch drawing contest. Young ghouls and goblins can get in touch with their "inner compass" as they weave their way through a corn maze, while adults and teens will enjoy scary attractions such as the Haunted Boot Hill, the Haunted Hay Ride, and the Undertaker's House.

It's a well known fact that towns of the old west have long been popular hangouts for ghosts, witches, and all sorts of blood-curdling creatures. For the most part though, they've stayed out west, and haven't bothered us here in the east.

But this October, all that will change at Ghost Town at Six Gun City! Come and see for yourself - if you dare!

Please note: Kids in costume are always welcome, but for reasons of patron safety, no adults in costume are allowed at any time.

I have known about this for a while. Six gun City also has a new Carousel that was never talked about. They added it at the end of last year.

Might be worth checking out. I have found nothing to indicate what it costs. general admission to the park during the summer was $22 dollars but that was including a return ticket.

I'm a bit late to the discussion, but my vote would also be "no". We actually went there in August to ride the coaster (that was probably our most expensive coaster ride). Kids might enjoy it, but there's nothing worthwhile there for adults. If it cost $10, I'd say it's worth it, but when they charge roughly the same price as Santa's Village and Story Land, there's just no comparison. Those 2 parks outshine Six Gun City in every way possible.

I personally feel the park should remove the Spray area and old water slides. that woudl open up more land for attractions. also since the attraction is more kids oriented they might as well add Norther NH only true kiddie land, maybe even steal SFNE abandoned Tiny timber Town name.

The coaster and Carousel are good additions but they need to add more. I did see a lot of cleaned up buildings and repairs but they still have a lot to do to be worth while.
