For those of you who don't follow the entire amusement park landscape Carowinds is gearing up for something major in 2010.

Just today someone did some snooping and found the potential name and theme, which you can see in this thread.

You can follow along with the construction and discussion of the new ride at Carowinds Connection and all the latest photo updates can be found in this thread.

Aside from Top Gun, none of the coasters at Carowinds stands out. Hopefully this coaster will be the one that puts it on the map. After riding Behemoth, I'm not crazy about the new train design, but the layout for Intimidator does look like fun. We're definitely hoping to hit this one next year, along with the Intimidator at Kings Dominion.

I'll agree with Topgun being the parks only standout ride. But there was so much to do anyways. I was still very satisfied with my visits in the past. It kinda killed my soul a little bit driving past the park this summer while it was open but not being able to go.

As far as the new trains go. I hated the way they looked a lot but hadn't had the chance to try them until a little over a month ago when I made it to Kings Island. They didn't really bug me, but I'd rather have the "standard" B&M train. I guess I just didn't see the point in changing them. It just splits people up from their groups.

And back to the CaroCoaster.. At least this one looks like it'll be good. Unlike the one KD is getting :/ but both will get me back to the parks wink.gif

I agree, James. I think the Carowinds coaster will be better than Kings Dominion. I normally prefer Intamin coasters, but the OTSR’s are going to ruin it.

James, B&M changed their trains for heartline purposes, and heartline purposes only. Apparently the newer trains are a little less wide, and therefor the riders have a better ride with less lats. B&M does it more for themselves, though. The new trains make the building process 3,000,000,000 times easier....
