Can we do something about the people on this board who can't spell for beans? Cause I have trouble reading what those people type cause I've grown up reading things where the spelling is correct, and every other word isn't misspelled.

If the people you are talking about are long time members that are very active and offer a lot to the group then I, my self over look such things. If I can not read something they say I skip over it as there are so many awesome things on this site. If I am interested in something such as person is saying but am having a hard time reading what they typed I will just add a message in a nice way asking them to explain about what they were saying or private message them saying " I really liked what you said but could not understand it all can you explain more?. People that are very active on the group tend to be quite friendly and love to talk. -Dana P.s. An internal spell check on the board would be nice but so would Season passes at Canobie and a hug from your favorte movie star every time you walk into the park(I know at least one of those things will not happen) LOL

I don't think spelling really matters at all. I mean, this isn't school!
And I agree with everyone else, if you can't understand, ask.

Maybe I only feel like reading posts that interest me. Someone said this isn't school, and they're right. So I shouldn't have to read things I don't want to read.

"Strictness" has nothing to do with this situation. Being "strict" on a forum would mean moderating the topics and perhaps language. The issue here is that this is a FORUM. A place for people to speak and comment on a certain topic. This is accomplished by using the English language (in this forum, anyway) which is made up of grammar, punctuation, and spelling. You completely defy the entire point of a forum when your posts are unreadable. It completely wastes the time of the readers and makes the entire population of users look stupid.
Never mind the fact that you should really learn how to better communicate. How exactly do you plan on going through life with absolutely no communication skills? If I saw an e-mail come across my desk with that kind of "I don't have spell check" mentality, I'd fire you immediately.

Clearly I'm the only one complaining see as that this thread began in 2006.
Why does it matter how much time I spend on this site? Do you have to be a registered and active member in order to read these posts? If so, by all means, block all content unless you are registered, sign in, and post actively.
I wonder how many people come to these forums, never registering, never commenting, due to the amateur commentary that takes place.
Funny how your last post was almost perfect (aside from the need for a few commas), did you happen to proof read this time?

Exactly my point.

I think "Could Care Less" is the right way. "Couldn't Care Less" sounds like a double-negative.....if you couldn't care less, then it sounds like you are saying that you could care more. Like in a double-negative ("I didn't do nothing wrong!"), if you didn't do nothing wrong, then it sounds like you did do something wrong. That's the Algebra logic where two negatives make a positive. Didn't mean to nit-pick, just throwing in my two cents. I could be wrong. I never complain about the spelling because it would just incite an argument and if it goes too far, one of the admins will nip it in the bud by closing the thread. I've seen it happen here. I rarely misspell any words unless it's a hard word like Qadafy (the terrorist leader whom no one can spell correctly). Then there is the Dance Hall Theater at CLP--everyone else spells it "Dancehall" (all one word), but I go by what the sign above the venue's entrance reads, Dance Hall Theater. OK, I'll quit now.

Thank you, Steve. Thank you for being one of a handful of people on this board that are legible and carefully craft their posts.
