October 25th, 2009.

Went with my girlfriend Tegan, her mom, and my good friends Alex, Tony, and Amanda.

We got there right at 4:00 and were amused by the creepy voice talking about the price of admission (we later proceded to sing "Barbie Girl" in the Creepy Voice).

We checked out some of the decorations as we made a line towards Yankee Cannonball. We all rode except my girlfriend who doesn't do coasters. It was a great ride as always with airtime galore.

Next Alex, Amanda and I did a run on Starblaster... this is my new favorite of the year. I never really had a thing for Starblaster until this year when I randomly fell in love with it. The line was about a 5 minute wait!

Tony decided he wanted to do a haunt next so we made our way over to Dancehall Theatre. Now, mind you I have never ever done a walkthrough. So I really had no idea what to expect. We got in line for the Dead Shed and chatted with a girl with a bloody face. As we walked away she began to follow us and I said, "Hey! What did I say about following us, you scary bloody-faced girl." and the whole time she kept a straight face. I was impressed. Later, while in line we got harrassed by one of the creepy clones. He went around shaking fences, throwing rubber chickens and ever kicked over a pumpkin
There was nothing scary about the haunt per se, but I got jumped by a couple actors (my favorite was the pale faced guy in a box). Kind of a nerve wracking experience and wasn't sure I entirely enjoyed it. For some reason the strobe lights disorientated me so badly, I thought I was going to fall over lol. Throughout there were lots of Easter eggs to be found. I even spotted a bottle of Pepsi :P
Afterwards me and my girlfriend posed with the giant scary clown :]

We then hit up the Turkish Twsit. Yum.

And then over to Corkscrew for 2 rides. It was basically a walk-on. I always enjoy this ride.

Then we did Pirata. I was so happy to see that it is still up and running. It ran a good ride but ended too soon. There were some cool decorations next to it. Skeletons, rats and treaure, oh my!

We decided at this point we wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel (haven't been on this in years!) It was super squeaky at the top, but a fun ride and definately one of the best wheels around. We all rode except Tony... who I guess doesn't like ferris wheels? what an interesting group we have. haha.

We thought that we would do the Village next but the line was big and it was already about 7. Tony and Amanda were set on doing it though so they waited in line while we hit a couple more rides.
We headed over to Starblaster first, it was about a 10 minute wait because they were only loading 8 people at a time. But boy was it worth it. It seemed to have a more powerful launch than usual and riding Starblaster at night is... well, a blast.

On our way past the stage we saw the guy from Circus of the Strange (didn't actually get to see the show) doing some chinese yo-yo tricks, so we stopped and watched. I'm decent at the Chinese yo-yo, but the real extent of my tricks is throwing and catching the yo-yo. This guy did some real incredible stuff including having the string go between his legs and going behind his back. After giving us the demonstration he gave us a "teaser" of the Circus of the Strange show. He had his assistant (he called her his daughter, she was probably 10-12 years old) go away while he had us write/draw things on a whiteboard. First I wrote the name of my favorite color, then Tegan drew a shape and picked a number between 1 and 100 and then Alex drew an image. Then she came back over and guessed them all accurately: orange, triangle, 10, and a flower. Slight of hand has always amazed me and this was a good trick.

Next we hit up Frisbee, which ran a very good ride.

We all met up at about 7:45. Tony did the Last Ride (haha. At one point we could see him waving his finger scoldingly at the camera), he enjoyed it. I thought about doing it, but I did not have $15 to spend unfortunately (which is not a bad price since it includes a cool t-shirt). Then we did Skater as the last ride of the year.

We watched the Monster Parade and got attacked by the giant armored monster guy on a chain (which Alex accurately dubbed: "the Steeler's Fan").

We then headed home at about 8 in order to get home before 11.

What a fun last day at the park. See you next year Canobie!
To all the actors: awesome job! You guys made this a truly incredible experience!

Other Notes:
- the weather was beautiful: about 60 degrees and little wind, got about 50 by night.
- Loved the walk around characters! They were all into their roles so well. I think the MVM (most valuable mosnter) award goes to either the grumpy pumpkin-kicking clown, or the Mobster-Zombie that asked me "Where's the money at?"
- The park seemed to be fairly busy, although the longest ride line we waited in was Cannonball (about 10-15 min). Most rides were about a one-circuit wait or a walk-on. Everyone must have been at the haunts.
- Turkey Legs looked tastey but were a bit pricey
- Saw one guy playing the "Autopsy" game. Do you actually get electricuted if you mess up?
- Pirata has a different paint job than it did Opening Day
-Didn't get to see the actual show, but I liked the drumset the Monster Band drummer had

Ride Count:
-Corkscrew x2
-Starblaster x2
-Yankee Cannonball
-Skater
-Turkish Twist
-Sky Wheel

(pictures to come soon)

This guy was the bee's knees. Besides the fact that he had a hole in his head. Ah well I 'spose. We chatted about who owes who money.

Perhaps the Confederate zombie killed the Union soldier, ate his brains, and stole his hat.
