Title: Will YORKS Ever get a new coaster.
Flitzer - November 22, 2004 04:01 PM (GMT)
Well its been 8 years from the time yorks took out the coaster. the main reason it was took away is because it was right next to all the homes in the house park next to yorks. and it just made to much sound. So it had to go. But yorks has room and other parts of the park for a new coaster.
so do you think they will ever get one?
I could see a smaller sized MadMouse coaster added or maybe some kind of kiddie coaster.

I highly doubt that the park continue to operate in the future. It is sad but I can see what happend to almost all of New Englands smaller park could happen to Yorks. Last summer when i visited on a saturday around the fourth of July the park was deserted. All of the rides were either closed or down for repairs. Even most of the games were closed. I spoke to one of the few employees and he said that they dont make enough money to hire a full staff. The man had been operating three rides in rotation. It was a sad site to see, the park was in desrate need of repairs and paint. I remember when I was smaller maybe 10 years back how this park had been a great place. They had several rides, a coaster, and attracted many people to the park. I hope this park can make a turnaround and shape up. Ive seen this stuff happen way to often with Lincoln park, Rocky point, Whalom, Mt. Park, Paragon, and recently witnessed the demolition of Pirates Fun Park. I realy hope this park survives not for us but for our future generations.

It is sad, we are losing all of our parks and not gaining any new ones. If I had the money i would definitly invest into a new park. We are losing a park almost every year, at this rate we will be left with nothing at all. :(

I went to Lincoln Park on friday. it was sad. but odd... MtPark closed a few years AFTER lincoln park.. yet lincoln park has far more stuff left.
I climbed the coaster and took tons of photos and stuff.. lol under the coaster i saw 100s of spraypaint cans... so I panited a " :( " on the ground.

do you have any pictures, i have always wanted to go inside the park to see what is left. A few years ago i ventured inside but only to the enterance of comet. I can see from rt.6 that there is still a large building standing. Do you have any idea what it is, or if there is anything else still standing. I know that the last fire in 99 destroyed 90% of the remaining buildings. I wold love to see the pictures.
Also how did you get in?? The neighbors across the street are always sitting on the porch yelling "NO TRESSPASSING".
Alos I wonder if they are doing something with the land, today driving by I saw some surveyers marking the land from inside the park. A few years ago they were going to turn the land into a resort but couldnt because of zoning issues.

Neet info. I think that was the one the person got hurt on 2 years ago.
anyways they really need a coaster. they have flats and walkthoughs. a coaster woudl add so much to the park side.

Yeah. At the topsfield fair a 8-12 yearold boy was standing and fell off. he got hurt but didnt die.

I though it was that ride.
anyways they coudl use a couple of coaster. one medium sixed wood and a family steel. They have that huge picnic ground that is open. and they coudl always redo the parkign lot and expand in that direction.

Wow am I late for this topic. Fiesta, took the Filtzer back, trading it for a couple of walk thru fun houses, and a Super Spiral (round up) The ride was rebuilt, repainted, renamed, Grand Prix. I recieved my Copy of Carnival magizine today, There is a feature, called Route Snapshots. It featured photos of Brass Ring Amusements-Midway of Fun from Vallejo, CA. The section had a small photo of The Grand Prix.
