Title: Nightmare New England 2010

SROS Master - October 8, 2010 02:59 AM (GMT)
People: Me, two good friends of mine.
Time at park: 6:30pm-7:30pm.
Date: 10/4/10

Here are my impressions from the 7 haunts of this year

The catacombs (formerly Buried Alive) The theming is more impressive than last year. The scaring was different, but still good.

Ravensclaw Cemetery/The Colony: Wow, what an improvement. The out in the woods haunt length has been doubled, with improved scaring since last year. The old Ravensclaw cemetery props from Nightmare New England’s first year(2008) is back. The colony had some funny scarers. The haunt trail now goes right next to the Merrimack river. Yea, you can actually see the river from this haunt this year.

House of Eternal Darkness: Same as last year. Glowing sticks are not necessary for this haunt. The music for this haunt is better than before though.

Freak show: The music is different this year. It is an amusement park carousel song going out of control, and it is still just as creepy as before. I missed the old circus theme for this haunt though. I remembered this haunt back when Nightmare New England just started their first year. It was just as creepy, but the style of the entire haunt was better in my opinion.

Torment: This haunt has the rest of the effects Buried Alive used. The ending of this haunt could have been used in the freak show.

Sleep Stalkers: This is the only haunt that has not been changed since its first year. They only changed a couple of things to this haunt this year though.

Main notes: This place is slightly better than last year. the two claustrophobic effects from buried alive are still being used this year. The first one you experience is in the catacomb haunt. The second and highlight one is in the torment. Nightmare New England Certainly did make 3 haunts better than previous years. The catacombs, Ravens claw cemetery(I am counting colony as part of ravens claw cemetery), and torment. The other haunts: eternal darkness, freak show, and sleep stalkers are about the same as last year. I am sorry, Haunted Graveyard still wins the battle so far.

Other notes: Ravensclaw cemetery/the colony is the best out in the woods haunt I have ever been though. Freak show is the best 3D haunt I have ever been through. All though this haunt has changed a few things, but it is still just as good since its first year.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the info...Are you a former member of the site? Juding by the fact that this is your first post and you went straight to starting a new topic and making a trip report I assume you've used this before.

Thanks for the report. If you get a chance to visit Canobie's ScreeemFest this year, I think that people would appreciate hearing how it compares with the other venues. As I understand it, you might have visited Canobie two years ago back when Spooky World was running the haunts, before they merged with Nightmare New England.
