http://www.sscoasters.net/forum/f21/new-co...ake-park-10237/Why would the mod there immediately close this thread about a topic on the Canobie FB page?
mrceagle - November 26, 2009 07:56 PM (GMT)
The mod is from at the University of Cincinnati. I doubt he knows anything about Canobie or what they are likely to do.
thing is though unless it's small It won't be coming in 2010.

I'm not stating anything right here. I'm just throwing out some little facts ;) Oh, and also, try to keep this stuff on the down low. I was told this information specially and secretly by some people I know. I was told specifically not to spread it around, but you guys are trustworthy.
Ok, so Intamin is working out a new coaster design with Entropy (A bud of mine) that incorporates the new multi-zone forece that Entropy has made. This new coaster is called the Mini-Lite. I'm not saying anything right now, as I have no idea what may happen with it, because Intamin is notorious for totally dropping their projects all of a sudden. I CAN say that the Mini-Lite's footprint and original schemes fit PERFECTLY into Canobie -- as if planned ;) That's all I gotta say...
mrceagle - November 30, 2009 03:15 AM (GMT)
While very compact coaster, Intamin has yet to build one under 105ft.
also I heard the move to steel was to save money over a wood coaster. I doubt a Mega-light would com in under 7 million especially after shipping costs.

Hey, you never know man, you never know.

*cough* The mini-lite is *cough* 95 feet ;)
mrceagle - November 30, 2009 09:03 PM (GMT)
Please in lighten all of us with an example of the Mini light. because there isn't one that I know of. There is a Mega-light a compact air time coaster. Intamin makes a Family coaster and a kiddie coaster but it would make no sense to use Intamin over an American company for a small coaster.
turkishtwistalltheway - December 1, 2009 01:21 AM (GMT)
I said Intamin is WORKING on a new coaster concept called the mini-lite. I know people inside of Intamin, and I have seen many of their extremely private concepts. As a matter of fact, I'm included in many of their copyrights! The bottom line is that some of their models and concepts fit PERFECTLY into Canobie's available space, and when I say perfectly, I mean down to the foot. The mini-lite also fits into the height requirements of Canobie. I'm just saying that this is a little suspicious, if you ask me.

I'm intrigued Turk...
An intamin in Canobie Lake Park? That would kick butt!
I think however, if we were getting a big steel coaster, the best idea for Canobie would have been to start advertising 2 or 3 months ago, so I don't expect to see anything big in 2010. However, I like surprises ;)
mrceagle - December 1, 2009 02:22 AM (GMT)
So what your saying is they are taking the Mega-lite and renaming it simply because it's under 100ft. and when you fist started posting you made it sound like they were getting it. Now your simply saying it;s a good fit.
and again Intamin is not a cheap company. shipping drives up the costs. Why should Canobie go with intamin when there are many company that can do it at a better price and be a much cheaper on upkeep.

MRC, I'm sorry for all this confusion. The special part of the new mini-lite is its special formula system that uses multi-zone segments. I could get into detail about it, but I would sound like a babbaling idiot. The bottom line is that it is MUCH different from the mega-lite. I can't get into details about how it's different as I have promised to keep quiet.
And about me posting like it would happen then posting like it would fit, I am saying that the concept is a 100% perfect fit into Canobie, as if it were planned. When I say 100% perfect, I mean it. Again, I can't tell wehre it fits, as this would inflict on the copyright I am under.
The bottom line is this: Intamin has been doing some suspicious things that strangely enough play into this rumor. I don't know if any of this is true, and I'm not concluding anything.

Anytime someone keeps dangling bits of information that he "isn't supposed to be saying but says it anyways," then repeatedly claims they can't say anything more yet continues to do so in vague ways...I take it with a grain of sale.

95 feet is 15 feet taller than canobie is allowed to build.

Well that makes a bit more cents. seeing Mali-zone-segments Seems more like a Gerstlauer or Maurer Söhne coaster. could they be planing to cut into their market possible but not sure how successful they would be.
Gard I often fall on the same level of caution.

I had a dream last night that Canobie purchased a Gerstlauer coaster and
this ride from Europa Park. And then I woke up and was quite depressed that this was not reality.
James - December 3, 2009 04:21 AM (GMT)
While I haven't been on the mack ride at Europa, I've been on the Mack water coaster at SeaWorld in Orlando many times. I wouldn't like to see that at Canobie vs something... good :P
If Canobie were to go to Mack, I would say take a spinner. Sidewinder at Knotts was pretty fun for its SMALL size, much better than SFNEs spinner.
This User Lacks a Desent Name - December 3, 2009 09:02 PM (GMT)
Yeah, the Mack ride doesn't excite me too much. Don't know why I drempt about it.
The reason I was depressed when I woke up was because Canobie is not installing a Gerstlauer. Sadly :[ Oh, what I would do for a EuroFighter in Canobie.
James - December 4, 2009 03:57 PM (GMT)
Ive wanted a EuroFighter at Canobie for a while. In a few of the "wishlist" and "what would you like" topics I've said that. Having been on two so far, both were very fun for different reasons and I really do think it'd make for a perfect fit at Canobie... Even as a Corkscrew replacement.

Gerstlaur doesn't use Multi-zone-force. No manufacturer has used it yet. And yes, Intamin could possibley be planning to cut into Gerstlauer/Maurer Sohne's market.

Maybe the topic was closed on the sscoasters site because it wasn't true. The poster said, "On facebook, Canobie Lake Park said that they might be getting a new coaster for 2010 (They asked us what we wanted for a coaster.)" However, it appears that the poster was lying. I don't see any such thing on
Canobie's Facebook page.

Ben:
If you look on their Facebook page you will see, "What attraction would you like to see at Canobie Lake Park in the coming 2010 season?" as a status update. This is probably what the poster was referring to.
mrceagle - December 5, 2009 09:16 PM (GMT)
I figured thats were they got it also. thing is from what I have heard Canobie has been paying for the coaster for a few years. so they are not getting anything designed in the last year.

Well that means there still is a chance that it could be a EuroFighter.

Also, we have to wonder why a closed topic from a different site about a post that may have been made... on a third site.. Was posted on here. Hmmm.....
Now remember this IS rumors and speculation. ;)
This User Lacks a Desent Name - December 6, 2009 08:22 PM (GMT)
MRCeagle: Do we know as a fact that Canobie is seriously looking into purchasing a coaster within the next few years? (that they have been paying for the past couple years and possibly this year?)
mrceagle - December 6, 2009 10:03 PM (GMT)
I don't know for sure. If I new for sure I woudl say so and say who told me. in this case the reports of them paying into a coaster are from a lower manager. she is not the type to spread rumors. Also Canobie is not into using huge loans to purchase anything especially rides. So if they were to buy a coaster they would pay into it. Which is why I find it more believable.
i do know that the park is not into taking huge risks. so a prototype coaster seems far fetched. a custom design ride using a proven system is more likely.
we'll just have to keep an eye on the local board meetings to see whats up over the next year.

'about a post that may have been made'?
Here's the link from the OP to the post that was made:
http://www.sscoasters.net/forum/f21/new-co...ake-park-10237/I get email alerts for the word 'Canobie' and that came in with a link to that board. Posted it here cuz 'we' are interested in all things Canobie, aren't 'we'?
James - December 8, 2009 03:00 PM (GMT)
I was just messing around. Trying to get some people thinking.
I'm all for new things at the park. New ride or even just new paint :P
mrceagle - December 8, 2009 07:53 PM (GMT)
Canobie has never been shy about the new paint.
methos - December 11, 2009 02:18 AM (GMT)
Well when I hint or dangle about Funtown they are up to something. As for Canobie doing anything all fronts are very quiet from what I know. Now that doesn't mean nothing is up. Just that I have not heard of anything. I know for a fact nothing major is coming to Funtown this year. Weather and mouse issues were hard on them this year. Remember how much rain we had early on this year. Mouse did not like rain. Lots of man hours were spend to fix and weather proof the ride some more.
Canobie had some of the same rains witch will hurt attendance, and cut down on days of operation. Bottom line is it takes away from what you get for profits.

Yes, I'm quoting my own question...
I realized the other day why they might've taken the post down - it's a site about building toy roller coasters.
