I'm a new member to this forum. Let me start off by saying that I've enjoyed browsing it and reading about some amusement parks :D .

I went to Rocky Point Park as a kid and later to Riverside Park in Mass. I'm hoping to get to Lake Compounce after reading up on the park.

I am helping out the makers of You Must Be This Tall: The Story of Rocky Point.

We are trying to compile a list of the bands that have played at the old Rocky Point Park, in Warwick, RI over the years.

I am listing the date, venue (ie: stage near the flume or the Palladium when available), supporting acts, as well as the name of the tour.

If you only remember seeing a band there and don't have any other info on it, that's fine. As much info as you can is still a great addition to this.

Funny Story -- Around 1986 ( give or take a couple of years )

Me and my buddies were all excited because Poision was playing at Rocky Point.
We get out of work and rush down to RP. Get there at 8:00pm just as the shows about to start... run over to the stage... The PRO-FM guy gets on the stage and says, "put your hands together and make some noise and welcome to the stage, PRETTY POISION". huh ?? where's Brett Michaels

Pretty Poison was a one hit wonder POP-Dance group. It turns out we mis-heard one of the radio ads.


I also saw Steppinwolf and the Scorpions (not sure when) by the flume

I also saw John Valby around 1995 in the building next to the Enterprise, I think the building was called the Windjammer at the time.
