icon_STOP2007 - New Ride - (3/9/07) We’ve been told that the park is expecting a KMG style Afterburner ride to replace the Crazy Dance ride that was removed last season. |

If you check the Palace Site, they announce that they are expecting the return of the Crazy Dance, for 2007.
Listed for sale last fall, was the Sun Wheel, and The Terminater, when I last checked the park in Feburary, both of these rides were still on site. They should be opening the around the same time as us, but it will be intereasting to see what goes on at OOB.

I got a st rang response about a month ago when I inquired about the rides. The only ride they would say anything about selling was Tornado which was sold.
all other rides would not be confirmed as up for sale or sold.
They did hope to have Crazy dance back but nothing has been completely set yet.
I'm not too fond of the crazy dance. very mild compared the Huss Breakdance. But we all know that with there limited space rides need to come out so that others can come in.

Mild? They run it WAY better than SFNE runs it joke of a breakdance.
Only really good run BDs I have found in the US are Astrolands (Coney) and Six Flags Kentucky Kingdoms.

Depends who runs the Crazy Dance , years ago they had a older guy that ran the Troika that kept changing the way it ran ;up ,down ,up down and it was different ; been on the Dance a few times when some girl kept screwing with the speed , VERY Breakdance-like .
Too bad they cant practially throw you out of your seat on the Moby Dick .
malachite5 - April 3, 2007 08:56 PM (GMT)
Sorry for the double ,but what about the Drop tower ?

I was comparing it to a Breakdance. The rodeo is a family version of the brake dance and was made to run less intense so it would be more of a family ride.
The drop tower is still there.

Just checked the Ital Int. site the Sun Wheel is listed under wheels and towers it's the last entry. That and the Terminator were up for sale as of early fall.
I hadn't seen anything about the Tornado, so that is news to me. I do plan a trip up to the area next Wedsday and I'll let you know, if I see any action If anyone is in that area before me please keep us informed. :) F.M.

I'm going to send an e-mail tomorrow so Hopefully we can get some updates.
tazzman - April 5, 2007 03:57 AM (GMT)
the tornado is listed on Ital Int
http://www.italintl.com/detail_page.php?record_id=863if they do sell then i hope they replace them with rides.I will be glad to see the the Terminator and sun wheel go.I'll take a ride through saturday
mrceagle - April 5, 2007 05:33 AM (GMT)
i doubt it will be this year. the holes created will likely be filled over the next 2-4 years.

Tazzman .....great job, picture #89 shows part of the Sun Wheel, #56 shows the Terminator. The Sun Wheel is still listed on Ital Int. while there is no sign of the Terminator on their site.
Picture #64 shows the Tilts former spot, but now no ride is in sight. The Tilt last year looked to be a newer model, then previously seen at the park.
These two empty spots could be for the new proposed ride that James reported on and maybe the return of the Crazy Dance. In 2005 I made a few trips to OOB and all but one time the Crazy Dance was down. A new ride can be like a new car, somewhere along the line your going to get a bum deal. Hopefully after a rebuild, this piece will have a better track record, then it did in the past. :) ....F.M.
P.S. Any idea of an opening day???

PP seems to open in the middle of May.

Great pics. Don't know nor have have I heard anything about the tilt-a whirl. May have opted to store it since much of it is wood. might be getting fresh paint.
The new ride is an Technical park Street Fighter. closer to the zamperla Nitro then the KMG/chance Morgan Afterburner. It will take the place of the tornado.
freddy freemeal - April 17, 2007 07:20 PM (GMT)
The old Tilt was traded in at the end of the 2005 season, the tilt seen last year is a brand new electric 7 model (no cable) . I was being set up between the log flume and the slide, as of last Wednesday. Also some new ride parts are seen in different ends of the park, but no Crazy Dance was in sight.
Action also going on at Yorks, but I did not get to see much. :) ....F.M.

Thanks for the extra info. The e0mail I got said the Crazy dance will not be back in 2007 but will hopefully be back in 2008.
