Resident Evil: Extinction (September 21, 2007)

QUOTE
Milla Jovovich returns as Alice, and she's running with a new pack of humans, with Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) leading a convoy (a school bus and a modified ambulance) that's cutting through the wastelands of the United States on a long trek to Alaska. Hunted by the minions of the scheming Dr. Isaacs, Alice has zombies hungry for her flesh and lab rats hungry for her blood, while Alice is hungry for Revenge.

Official Trailer

So far it looks like it will be more along the lines of Resident Evil: Apocalypse, mainly action with more game elements included. I am going to see it because I like one and two :D

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (June 15, 2007)

QUOTE
Reed and Sue are married early in the film. The film's remaining story will center on the appearance of the Silver Surfer on Earth, as well as the return of Doctor Doom.

Official Trailer

I liked the first one but I took it at face value, meaning I didn't expect it to be magnificent. So far I don't know where I stand on this one. Silver Surfer doesn't look all that impressive to me and on the commercial teaser they show Sue (Jessica Alba) acting a lot sluttier. That just didn't sit right with me. I am happy to hear that Dr. Doom is going to return, though I am not expecting much.

Grindhouse (April 6, 2007)

QUOTE ("Planet Terror")
Two doctors, William and Dakota Block, find that their town is overrun by people covered in suspicious sores. They come across a wounded woman by the name of Cherry, a stripper who lost her leg in a creature attack, and her boyfriend Wray. As the 'zombies' become more and more aggressive, Wray and Cherry lead a group of survivors in an attempt to rid the planet of the mysterious and dangerous foes.

QUOTE ("Death Proof")
Death Proof will be set around a fictional movie shoot. Winstead plays a character named Lee, who's an up-and-coming film actress starring in her first big movie. Rosario Dawson plays her makeup artist, while Zoë Bell and Tracie Thoms play stunt women. The girls hang out together and have a good time until a psychotic killer named Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) begins to stalk them.

Official Trailer

Needless to say I am really excited about this/these movie/movies. One part Zombie movie, one part slasher flick. Micheal Biehn is in Planet Terror and I have been a fan of him from (Terminator, Aliens). Oh and how can you not love Rose McGowan having a machine gun leg!

JustPlainSteve - March 18, 2007 01:17 AM (GMT)
According to USA TODAY, Rob Zombie is redoing the classic HALLOWEEN. This one is much more brutal and graphic and we see how Michael Myers came to be the scary psycho killer that made the franchise. Sheri Moon, Rob Zombie's wife, plays Michael's mom and Scout Taylor-Compton (Gilmore Girls, Charmed) plays the Jamie Lee Curtis role. Tyler Mane (Sabretooth from the first X-MEN movie) plays Michael as an adult.

JustPlainSteve - March 31, 2007 07:46 AM (GMT)
The Stone Cold movie is called THE CONDEMNED, they've been promoting it every week on RAW and SMACKDOWN and more than likely they'll hype it this Sunday at WrestleMania.

And yes, I plan to see GRINDHOUSE, it looks good.

JustPlainSteve - April 8, 2007 02:11 PM (GMT)

I'm so sorry ... that you actually own it  . I am glad you like it, though myself, James Cameron, Ridley Scott and a LOT of Alien/Predator fans hate it.

These movies are being released to DVD SEPARATELY!!!!!

Death Proof comes out this Tuesday (9/18) and Planet Terror will be out next month. This makes no sense. I would imagine they'd put the faux trailers on both DVDs, they'd better! I love those! MACHETE, DON'T, THANKSGIVING and WEREWOLF WOMEN OF THE SS.

Stitch, how did you like GRINDHOUSE? I loved it and so did my nephew who is pursuing a film career. Planet Terror was the better film, but Death Proof had the better soundtrack (I have the CD in my car, I love Jack Nitzsche's THE LAST RIDE which played in the opening credits).

If you'd like, there's this 5-disc DVD collection called THE GRINDHOUSE EXPERIENCE (Best Buy has it for just $24.99) with 20 real grindhouse movies including THE CHILDREN (which I posted in the 'last movie you watched' thread). Other titles include DEMON WITCH CHILD, KUNG FU PUNCH OF DEATH, GO KILL AND COME BACK, HIGH SCHOOL HITCH HIKERS and VIOLENT PROFESSIONALS.

Stitch - September 15, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
I haven't seen either film yet and I want to see Planet Terror more than Death Proof.

The only names I recognized in the cast were Shannyn Sossamon (THE RULES OF ATTRACTION), Ray Wise (Leland Palmer from TWIN PEAKS, currently The Devil from REAPER), Jason Beghe (MONKEY SHINES) and Margaret Cho ('90s sitcom ALL-AMERICAN GIRL).

In Thailand, John Rambo (Stallone) assembles a group of mercenaries and leads them up the Salween River to a Burmese village where a group of Christian aid workers allegedly went missing.

Official Trailer (Graphic Content Warning)

Despite it's cheesiness, I think it looks like it will be a good action film.

JustPlainSteve - July 14, 2008 03:05 AM (GMT)
An added bonus for me--as an AMC MovieWatcher member, my next reward comes up on my next visit: Free Large Popcorn AND Free Large Drink! :D

This User Lacks a Desent Name - July 14, 2008 03:10 PM (GMT)
I have been waiting for Dark Knight for well over a year, and now that it's almost finally here I am about to go crazy. Unfortunately I won't be going to the midnight showing on Thursday (what kind of a crazy fan am I??) or Friday because my girlfriend couldn't go then. So I'll be there on Saturday. Oh well I guess.

Oh by the way is anyone planning on seeing Batman: Gotham Knight? It's the new anime Batman film that bridges the two films (Batman BEgins and The Dark Knight), released on July 8. Fortunately I have had it waiting in my Netflix quue for quite a long time. Unfortunately, I had some Netflix's at home already, so I won't be getting Gotham Knight until tommorow. <_<
