Title: Whats up with Funspot?

James - July 25, 2006 01:37 AM (GMT)
I was at Funspot up in NH for about 20mins today... And well... What’s up with the place? It seems to have gone down hill very fast. All the old logos are gone... The arcade games are very outdated (meaning no new games...) Also the last 2-3 times I have been up to it... It’s been very dead only 10-15 cars in the parking lot.
Didn’t someone here last year find some news about funspot adding a lot to it? I didn’t see anything going on. I didn’t even see an area where stuff would be going on. If it ever does.
It just seems like its going to hell. I use to love the place when I was like 5-6... They had the bus that would take you down to the beach and I think even up to Surf-Coaster. But that’s long gone. All the things with the old logo are gone... And even things like the cups have changed... They don’t even say Funspot on them anyone...
So does anyone know what’s up with the place?

Well one problem is that the Place is in the Middle of Nowhere. So outside of Travel weekends there not that busy. the few times I went were outside normal camping and travel weekends and the place was as dead as you described. And this was 15 years ago or so.

They proud themselves on there classic game selection. It's a family place so I can understand the absence of many of the newer games. But I though they had a couple DDR games.

I can only speculate on why they are the way they are. Cups with logos on them are fun but Cost allot of money. That's why Amusement parks have cups with the drink company on them 90% of the time. that or plain everyday cups.

Funspot Web page

I looked at there were site while they did mention Modern games i didn't see a DDR mentioned. maybe they could wall off there Indoor Gold and replace a section of it with a DDR area.

I think over all there trying to keep in business they are the second largest arcade in the Country and that takes money to keep up. I think it would be smart of theme to put in a small indoor amusement park a few family rides and a coaster or two. they'd get more money and it would give people a reason to travel to them. I'm sure most people would play a game or to and get some food.
