JOURNALS
There's no one left to write the fancy history books, so we do what we can to keep track of our lives. Journals are the only option left for the few that know how to read and write.

THE ENCLOSURE
Chain link fences surround the compound. Every 40-50 yards a guard tower is set up, watching for zombies to snipe. There are two sanctioned entrances. One by the Narrows, Southwest, nearest the port. The other by the stadium, to the North.

QUARANTINE
If you're lucky enough not to be shot on site and actually make it past the fences and into their little city, you must spend a week in Quarantine while Darwin scientists poke and prod you, looking for signs of infection. The rooms were constructed from the Air Force research labs.

AIRPORT HOUSING
There is housing on ground level for new comers. This usually consists of tents and makeshift rooms set up in the baggage claim and check-in areas. For those who are permanent citizens, they can petition the government for a room upstairs. Since they moved into the airport they have constructed tons of rooms from the old lounges, and terminal wings.

THE LAZY SNAKE
A local trading post on the ground floor of the airport where a cafe used to be. It serves salvaged beer for trade, but no promises it tastes very good. They also provide a daily ration of water brought in and purified from a nearby stream. Next to the 'Snake' is the kitchen where citizens come and get their daily meal. It's usually canned food, home-raised fish or chicken. Nothing exciting.

MEDIC WING
If you fall ill, they have medical staff to help. How qualified they are varies, but they have a few ex-doctors and surgeons who actually know their way with a scalpel. Most of their supplies have been gathered from the Royal Darwin hospital to the North. If you are brought here and are infected you are immediately killed and your remains disposed of outside the city.

THE PLAYGROUND
Between the fences and the solid walls of the airport a playground has been built by pieces of scrap for the unfortunate children of the apocalypse. It also has tons of open space for adult soccer and rugby, a favorite pass time.

LIVESTOCK PENS
Where the runway used to be, there is now overgrown grass and rubble. This is where they keep the cattle they salvaged before they could be infected. They also have a chicken coup, some goats, and other assorted edible animals.

COCONUT GROVE
To the west there are old, abandoned subdivisions called Coconut Grove. Past these is the sea where one can enjoy the ocean and bathe. You can also find some trading posts & pubs. One of the few places the Urbans and Outlanders really mingle.

THE DOCKS
Darwin is known to be a great port of Australia. Those who can find the gas to use a ship, or want to learn how to sail through the vast ocean can get to Darwin this way. Yet, near the fences of the camp and you better hope the guard with the rifle pointed at you woke up on the right side of the bed that morning.

CROP FIELDS
All around the enclosure are field of crops. Brave farmers come out each day to tend them, guarded by the military watch towers.

THE PIT
To the north, just outside the fences, there is an old baseball stadium that is used to pit "disobedient" citizens of New Darwin against each other or the Infected until they pay off their debt to society in Gladiator style fights. There are watch towers there as well for sniping in order to ensure the safety of any and all spectators.

CHARLES DARWIN NATIONAL PARK
To the south is the park, where you can find forests and animals to hunt. However, this is no place for your average citizen. The risk is great and the only sanctioned visits there are done by military personnel.

HOLMES JUNGLE NATURE PARK
To the West there is another hunting ground, but many of the animals here are infected so you need to watch out. This place is avoided.

ROYAL DARWIN HOSPITAL
This structure, and the parks surrounding is home to Outlanders when they choose the use it. They don't have a government and come and go as they please. They shoot first, ask questions later.

EAST POINT
This little peninsula is a main docking point and camp for visiting Vultures who survive by traveling by ship to and from the mainland to outlying islands. Do not travel there. They don't like strangers.

CATHEDRAL
There are still some good and proper God-fearing folk left in the world, the sort that need a nice little place to say their prayers every Sunday. The cathedral provides just that. Though it makes no promises of safety, travel here at your own peril, as there is no guarantee that the other folk seeking shelter won't be looking to help you meet your maker a bit sooner than anticipated.

AMSTERDAM PARK
Steer clear of this area, it is rumoured to belong to the Children of the Wastes. Unlike most settlements, Amsterdam Park isn't fortified in any formidable way, instead, it's surrounded by a different sort of fence. All around the perimeter of the building, bodies are stacked and decaying. The ones on the top always look the freshest. During the day, it's deathly quiet, but at night, if you're brave or stupid enough to be out here, you might spot some flickering lights disappearing in the distance, overhear some voices echoing from inside the building, or even catch a masked individual slipping past the body-blockade.

THE WAREHOUSE
Meant to serve as the headquarters for The Resistance, anyone opposing the New Darwin regime seeking shelter is more than welcome to stay here for a time. Located just inside the city of Darwin, the warehouse itself and a number of the surrounding streets and buildings are heavily booby trapped with everything from trip wires to bear traps to homemade grenades. The folks inside, however, are surprisingly nice, everyone's got their own reason for living here and they're quite welcoming to any outsider that manages to get this far.

THE WASTELANDS
From sea to shining sea, interrupted only by the occasional rubble and ruin of fallen cities, the wastelands stretch. If the Infected wandering through these hellish barrens don't get you first and you manage to avoid radiation exposure, chances are you'll eventually just starve to death or go mad before you get to where you're going.

CAMPS
Various pockets of survivors have painstakingly set up several safe zones away from the constricting walls of established settlements. Many of these camps may be abandoned, as their residents may choose to move from camp to camp every few days, to keep the Infected from swarming their location.

RUINS
Once upon a time, our world was covered by roaring metropolises and rural farm towns. When the war came, they were abandoned in the chaos. Some still stand, mostly the smaller, insignificant towns, empty shells with empty streets. Some were completely leveled by blasts. Either way, they're dangerous, crawling with the Infected and riddling with disease and radiation. Still good places to find supplies, if you're willing to take the risk.

CEMETERIES
Most of the people killed in the wastelands didn't have much of a body left to recover, so there's not much buried here. These half-assed little wooden crosses with names scratched into them just offer a certain closure. Often located outside established settlements, people hang around here to mourn over their lost ones.

THE OCEAN
Polluted and dark, the only thing left mostly intact after humans destroyed their own planet. The ocean is more or less the same as it has always been. There's considerably less sea life in it though, due to pollutants and radiation and I wouldn't advise swimming out too deep, as things that were restricted the to bottom of the sea have been allowed to rise higher due to the darkness.
