CHIMERIC (chi·mer·ic): adjective - unreal; imaginary; visionary; wildly fanciful

Chimeric is redefining the graphics community. As you may or may not have noticed,we do things a little differently around here. We play fair. No member should have to conform to someone else's idea of pretty. We don't sort people into groups by how skilled they are; they're sorted by what they're skilled in. We don't have to be mindless sheep, following the unreachable goals that trends set: you should love doing what you do, and not feel confined by what's "pretty" or "trendy".

This is where graphics communities have it wrong: in the real world, designers must separate themselves from every other designer. You don't flip through a magazine and see pages of different ads for different companies all designed in the same way. Companies hire designers to make their product stand out, to separate themselves from other brands and make customers want to buy. We follow the same ideals here. If your graphics look the same as the next person's, what makes your graphics better than theirs?

At Chimeric, you will be amongst artists, designers and coders who strive to never stop learning. You will find tutorials on how to do different things in the areas of your choice, and in the near future, meet with tutors who specialize in their areas of expertise. We have an constantly growing collection of graphic and coding resources, space to make requests or set up shops, and a showcase forum to ask for constructive criticism without feeling attacked or ridiculed. We offer services in coding and skinning as well, supplying maintenance, feedback, and skins. But most importantly, we provide a community of members that are all here for the same reason: we want to grow in our areas of interest and break the mold.
