...used to be my fav day of the week when I worked, I'm sure it still is every worker's fav ...

We have had some very big squalls go through here last night and during the night. The fledged Eaglets at Catalina all got rained on sometime ...we know the WEST END of the Island got squalled many times.. I think parts of the NorthernChannel Islands did as well. Remember, this is Southern California we don't get rain this time of year (after May or June) and chances begin again in Oct. or Nov.), so the Eaglets of the islands are probably thinking..."What's this drenching wet stuff?"

CAROLE--Cute capture of the White Rock eaglets. ..gosh that nest is not very large.

Here is some more of the Coopers - having never seen them succesfully hatch chicks before I was really excited when I found an egg shell under the nest:

The picnic was at a park in Phillipsburg, NJ with a pavillion.
Fun game - Every one is given a wrapped gift (from the dollar store) and 3 playing
cards. The caller calls out the card #'s and when your # is called you take someone's
gift. The next person called can take that gift away from you. Until all #'s are called
and you get what you are left with. It's SILLY! I ended with a bottle of lavender
hand lotion. Our group goes out an eats every other month. And the month in
between we gather at a room at the local library and have a demo or discussion.

Penny - Hope you and your DH and Siobhan have a pleasant trip. Saskatoon sounds
like an interesting place. I miss the great adventures I used to have.

Cindy - have you seen your thrasher chick? I was thinking, you could place it in a hanging potted plant that's shaded to get it off the ground if it is still a nestling.

Okay, here it is! Mrs. Fox and her four cuties. Remember, adult foxes are the size/height of a cat. These guys are a little smaller.

Please forgive the shakey start. I ran to get the camera and began video before any other thought, as they can disappear fast. I love their colors - especially their ears from the back. (Their own radar antennas) As it turned out, they graced me with their presence for quite some time. I finally stopped taping when the light was fading.

Turn off sound! Just news program running in background, as I was inside house.

Ironing all done, packing half done. Seems we are taking everything but the kitchen sink...a big cooler for soy products etc, the salads I made and a smaller Trader Joes cooler bag for the car with drinks, fruit, snacks and Siobhan's food and treats. I still have to give her a bath but at least she'll air dry naturally again

I'm feeling a bit already and it's only 11 AM !!! BBL
