Praline, I really like the metal flowers you put on your house. I think along with some colorful flowers below and the bird bath it will great out front. A nice welcome home feeling.
Goldwing RIP   A couple of years ago a garter snake joined us for a day of fishing. He just wanted our night crawlers! He was quite content curled up at my feet and getting a “treat” every so often. A beautiful snake and quite unafraid of us. I have never been afraid of snakes – I had one as a “pet” as a child.  |

in all the hiking we've done upstate and in NJ ..... I didn't even know we had rattlers - but ES in the past couple of years, has seen 2 on his hikes! (I have not yet seen one) they took some photos and just gave them their space - they were sunning on big rocks ...

I see an update on the NM fire - WOW - unbelievable ...... hope those fireman and anyone in harms way are staying safe ......
 watching reports on the Queen's jubilee celebration - what fun it must be for everyone! I liked the clip of old family film of her and the kids at the beach - to see her as just a mom ...... the boys were talking the other day about their relationship with "grandma" and that to them, she's just grandma! can you imagine!  |

Me, too, Deb. It has grown to over 230,000 acres. The good news is that they say it is 15% contained. It is so sad. The Gila Wilderness is so beautiful. Very rugged, mountainous and endless forests.

well one thing, nature does recover very quickly - the first time ES hiked thru an area in northern NM that had a fire the year before, he realized it was very quiet - no animals to be seen anywhere - but a couple years later when plants were returning - the animals returned and all was well. Changed - but good!
do they have an idea of how it started? just wondering well the Enterprise was placed on a barge yesterday and will begin it's journed up the river to the Intrepid (if the weather and tide cooperates) it won't be viewable until July 19th they say ...... can't go inside (phooey) but will be cool to see anyway! I'll wait until the dust settles ..... |
