Both chicks resting in nestbowl, one facing the 3, the other the 9. So good to see that there were 3 prey deliveries this morning--A40 is on the job! And even though it's overcast and damp on the Central Coast today, the camera lens is pretty clear and the sky is blue on the island! Right-facing chick gets up and looks off to the 12. |

An occasional eaglet cry and some birdsong, but otherwise pretty quiet on this nest. One twin sitting/standing looking off the back of the nest, while the sib rests looking toward the 10/11(ish). Hmm, the twin on the left suddenly moves over and appears to give his/her twin a beaking/peck. Cam freezing a bit, so not sure exactly what's going on. Don't hear any whining...at least, not at that moment. Beek/beak--peek/peak--so easily confused and typed! This post has been edited by torreycat on Jun 3 2012, 01:38 PM |

The active chick is now standing at the 5 facing the camera, does a little preening, a little calling. Ready for lunch, Mom & Dad!Just love those "little" yellow talons.... And even though Steffani said eagles "technically don't sit, they perch," this one sure looks like its sitting! This post has been edited by torreycat on Jun 3 2012, 01:44 PM |

Both eaglets alert to something overhead -- sounded like a goose or duck honk! -- but other than the standing/sitting/perching twin turning around to turn tail to the camera, they haven't changed positions in the last half hour! The twin backs up to the very right edge of the nest--tail is actually off-camera but it looked to be a PS off the 3. C'mon back into the nest, lil' one. Finally, eaglet moves off the edge and back over the center rear, lies next to twin. H/she was "perched" where there is no crib rail! They must both be feeling pretty good after their breakfast deliveries, considering how little squealing is going on. This post has been edited by torreycat on Jun 3 2012, 02:25 PM |

Both chicks lying at the 10/11, occasional cry. PH - 3:40 Chick appears sleeping peacefully at lower right of nest. I take it back--s/he is hanging head off the lower right of nest, appears to be watching something.... BBL This post has been edited by torreycat on Jun 3 2012, 02:42 PM |

Quick food delivery by one of the parents. Couldn't see a number, so not sure which one.Grabbed, mantled & eaten by one chick while the other looks for a chance to steal. Parent takes off to the left within a minute. The camera froze and now shows a different scene, so not sure what happened. |
