As you know All Eagles All The Time 2011/2012 is an Archival/History in Videos and Still captures showing the various stages throughout the year in the lives of the Eagles on the West End Nest. on Catalina Island
We have followed them through the Nestorations and then onto the Eggs/Incubation stage. Next was the exciting stage of the Hatchings of their three chicks and following their Early Development in Here a Chick! There a Chick! .... Now we have reached Banding Day .... where the eaglets will get their ‘wing blings’ .... and start on the journey to become fledglings. In this topic we will also cover Branching ... and the final stage of Fledging. This will be both a joyous and sad time for us all .... we will be sorry to see them leave the nest .... but we will wish them Safe Journeys when that time finally happens. As you know all these Videos and Stills have been selected .. as their favourites .. by the members who have captured them on Nest Watch. You can see more videos and still pictures by visiting the Daily Observations thread. Also known as Nest Watch. Again we ask that you not post comments in this thread Viewing Only Please. This will enable faster viewing by Dr. Peter Sharpe and the IWS Team ... for record purposes ... and also for Members and visitors to the forum. Capturers are asked to wait until Cumbrian or EDblue (Eagle Duo) posts the first thread of each day before oosting or reserving a space for your videos and/or captures of the day to keep continuity to the archives. |

Hatch Date ............................................. Wingbling Number .................................. Fledge Date March 29/12, March 30/12 & April 3/12 ....... K-27 (F) .. K-24 (M) and #3/5Z (F)........... K-24 fledged on June 25/12 at 8:41am. .................................................................................................................................... K-27 fledged on June 27/12 at 8:21am. .................................................................................................................................... 5Z fledged on July 12/12 at 6:39am  ...............K-27 was banded as a Female and K-24 was banded as a Male ... they were correct!  ...................................................#3/5Z was banded as a Female ... and they were right! TODAY WE GOT OUR WINGBLINGS!
May 25, 2012  Peter, Steffani and another biologist arrive to commence banding.  The eaglets are in the bags!    #3 back on the nest ... surrounded with fish! ( Too small for blings)  K-27 getting blinged!  K-24 is next.  Back on the nest .. #3 now has a large crop!  Enjoying the donated fish.  Wray is home and all is well. |

May 25, 2012 Peter and Steffani taking photos and starting to climb to the nest......   It looks like two bags are filled with eaglets and on their way to banding area....   Here comes Peter with bag three.......  Steffani taking photos while they are returning one eaglet.......  #3 Not looking too happy............  K-27 in the bag.............................  Working on K-24............................  The 3 Eagleteers, banded and beautiful.........  |

May 26, 2012   #3 eating the fish delivered by K-01. K-27 looking to steal it away from him/her. ................................  .......................................... K-27 now has the fish.  K-24 preens and calls for food.  K-01 flies in with a fish. #3 rushes to grab and gulp it down.   All eyes on #3 as s/he tries to swallow it.......................... Success! ................................  ..................................... K-24 shows off his new wing blings!   Wray has been diving into her food again! ............. Now she feeds #3. |

May 27, 2012   Wray delivers & K-24 comes down to claim the fish. #3 continues to eat his/her fish.   K-27 moves to claim the new fish delivery .. then decides to get fed by Wray instead! ...............................  ..................................... Another fish is delivered by Mom.  #3 helps K-27 with her fish!   Wray & #3 share a meal................................ K-01 delivers another fish. ...............................  ..........................................Wray & #3 check it out.  Camera Froze! |

May 28, 2012 K-01 delivers at 8:23am  9:01am - Portrait of #3; 9:12am - Bright-eyed K-27 speaks up   9:28am - K-01 before flying to the cam pole  12:16pm - Outta my way! - #3 tackles the prey   K-27 practices at 12:30pm  2:19pm - Wray and prey arrive with a flourish  3:13pm - Wray and her brood  4:43pm - K-27's close-up  |
