PLEASE READ2012 Nesting Season! The PH nest of ... K-10/m & K-26/f ... has 1 chick that hatched on April 13th. The SC nest of ... A-40/m & A-27/f ... has Twins that hatched on April 8th and April 11th. The TH nest of ... K-81/m & K-82/f ... had 1 chick that hatched on March 29th. A fox took the eaglet during the early hours of April 20th. The WE nest of ... K-01/m & Wray/f ... has Triplets that hatched on March 29th, March 30th and April 3rd. Check out the dates on the Calendar ... top right of this page ... for further information ... videos etc. Now there are chicks, it will be interesting to see what kind of prey is brought to the nests. Please continue to post observations in the usual way ... should you observe a parent switch ... or notice that the adult is not on the nest ... it would be helpful to all of us ... if the time/s could also be noted/posted ... along with whatever-else you observe happening on the nest at that time. Times of events on a nest are a great help to those of us who video when we are editing the footage. Remember Dr. Sharpe has indicated in the past, that he also wants us to simply enjoy the experience of watching all the happenings on the nests ... and learn more about these magnificent birds ... through the wonder of the Nest Cams. Just a few Gentle Reminders about posting on this thread. (Helps to save time when reading through it.) Please remember that it is the CHANNEL ISLANDS NESTS ONLY...either on or off camera...that we post our observations/comments about. There are FOUR nests with cameras online...so it is important to know WHICH NEST you are observing. Please put the Initials at the start of your post... . . . ♦ ALL 4 NESTS - http://iws.org/interactive_nestchat.html . . . ♦ PH = Pelican Harbor (WMP) - http://media1.vcoe.org/eaglecam1 . . . ♦ PH = Pelican Harbor (embedded) - http://www.iws.org/interactive_pelican_nestcam.html . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon (WMP) - http://media1.vcoe.org/eaglecam2 Temporarily unavailable . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon (embedded) - http://iws.org/interactive_sauces_nestcam.html . . . ♦ TH = Two Harbors - http://iws.org/interactive_twoharbors_nestcam.html ♦ TH ARCHIVES ♦ . . . ♦ WE = West End - http://iws.org/interactive_westend_nestcam.html ♦ WE ARCHIVES ♦ . . . ♦ WE = West End (Wide View) - http://www.ustream.tv/channel/west-end-cam-wide-view ♦ WE Wide-View ARCHIVES ♦ . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon - http://www.ustream.tv/channel/sauces-cam Temp link only . . . ♦ PH = Pelican Harbor @ Twin Harbors - http://www.ustream.tv/channel/pelican-harbor New link...may be temp . . . ♦ ALL 4 NESTS on Ustream - http://www.iws.org/interactive_nestchat_allUstream.html These nests are all in California...so it's Pacific Time on this coast. We prefer that the Quote Button is not used on this thread...and if you must use it...because you are referring to something on a previous page...then take TEXT only...never captures or video. Thanks! |

“A request from Dr. Sharpe”
To make it easier for the biologists to see the prey deliveries, please limit the use of the blue fish to prey deliveries only. Begin your post with the nest initials, followed by the time of delivery & the blue fish.
Thank you! |

Bringing Forward:
After hours of working on the feeds yesterday, it seems, at least for my computers, that the embedded media players don't seem to work with Firefox running on Windows XP. Therefore I've added a second all cams page with only Ustream feeds. It is at http://www.iws.org/interactive_nestchat_allUstream.html. There is also a link above the West End cam on the page with the media player streams. |

The American Bald Eagle
A Symbol of Life and Freedom ![]() The American people have risen to the occasion to protect the symbol of our nation and because of this dedication; the American Bald Eagle has made a spectacular recovery from near extinction. The story of the fight to save this magnificent bird shows the same courage and honor as we associate with the bird itself. It has been an uphill battle, but it is one the American people rose to meet head on. Maybe one day in the early morning hours, I can look up at one of those beautiful birds soaring high above the trees and feel pride in knowing it is there because we cared enough not to give up. I made this Smilebox for you. Click photo to play ![]() There are many ways that you can participate in the Institute for Wildlife efforts to restore and monitor bald eagles to the Channel Islands. Just visit http://s11.zetaboards.com/IWS_Eagle_Forum/index/ … Look in Topic #2 when you reach the IWS forum and thank you for caring about the Channel Islands Bald Eagle’s! |

Linda .. I was thinking the same thing but I have a challenge! If Steffani takes a bag of fish to leave for them on the nest after banding, I'll contribute 100 clams for the fish/delivery service to the NAC to go with what I've already done. How 'bout it Steff?

...but that doesn't get #3 fed.... I'd rather see #3's crop filled at banding so there is no competition...BUT I will back your challenge!!!!! You may need to reword it though as I think you've crossed a line.......maybe we could say one hundred smackeroos
