Happy
PeepsWe had another serious yesterday and last night was an incredible lightning display. All my plants were stashed in the garage again. It's getting tiresome taking them in and out every day More expected all day today and tomorrow. I'm already hearing the thunder starting to roll again which means I probably won't be on the computer much today either |

WCV NEWSYou are watching the “Raptor Tower Cam”, featuring Bald Eaglet #12-0529 and Bald Eaglet #12-0739. Eaglet #12-0529 was found on the ground in Chesapeake at the end of April 2012. On May 10, after the Wildlife Center officially dedicated new flight pen A3, the eaglet was moved into the “raptor tower” portion of the new flight complex — an area specially designed for nestling and fledgling raptors. Eaglet #12-0739 was rescued from Northumberland County and was admitted on May 10. It was moved to the “raptor tower” on May 14. Raptor Tower doors were opened on the evening of May 22 — the rehabilitation staff will be astroturfing the balcony railing on May 23. The “A3 Eagle Cam” offers an alternative view of the raptor tower — from inside the main flight area of the Center’s newest and largest flight pen. Chesapeake Bald Eagle #12-0001 [the mature eagle in the enclosure] was admitted to the Wildlife Center on January 1. It tested positive for lead and has had lingering neurological issues related to the lead toxicity. Bald Eagle #12-0001 is non-releasable, and the Center veterinary staff is assessing the bird for placement. ![]() |

I don't know if you've ever heard of the Eurovision Song Contest (been going on since the 1950s) - but it's often a mixed bag of stuff with some good, some bad and some interesting performances as each country sends their representative to the contest.
The 2012 semifinals are going on now - Tuesday was the first round, Thursday the second round and Saturday the final. There's some rock, some 80s glam, some hip hop - and I even see Engebert Humoerdink is the UK entry for this year and singing Saturday!! Holy cow! You can watch it online live or a rebroadcast at: http://www.eurovision.tv/esctv/future. The next semifinal is Thu, May 24 9PM CET (or 3pm ET, 12pm PT) This entry just cracks me up! It's the entry from Russia - six grannies ("babushki") dressed in traditional garb singing "Party for everyone - come on and dance, come on and dance - boom boom!!" Check them out! www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4qmsmzoRBE |
