2012 Nesting Season!

The PH nest of ... K-10/m & K-26/f ... has 1 chick that hatched on April 13th.

The SC nest of ... A-40/m & A-27/f ... has Twins that hatched on April 8th and April 11th.

The TH nest of ... K-81/m & K-82/f ... had 1 chick that hatched on March 29th. A fox took the eaglet during the early hours of April 20th.

The WE nest of ... K-01/m & Wray/f ... has Triplets that hatched on March 29th, March 30th and April 3rd.


Check out the dates on the Calendar ... top right of this page ... for further information ... videos etc.

Now there are chicks, it will be interesting to see what kind of prey is brought to the nests.

Please continue to post observations in the usual way ... should you observe a parent switch ... or notice that the adult is not on the nest ... it would be helpful to all of us ... if the time/s could also be noted/posted ... along with whatever-else you observe happening on the nest at that time.

Times of events on a nest are a great help to those of us who video when we are editing the footage.

Remember Dr. Sharpe has indicated in the past, that he also wants us to simply enjoy the experience of watching all the happenings on the nests ... and learn more about these magnificent birds ... through the wonder of the Nest Cams.

These nests are all in California...so it's Pacific Time on this coast.

Bringing Forward:

After hours of working on the feeds yesterday, it seems, at least for my computers, that the embedded media players don't seem to work with Firefox running on Windows XP. Therefore I've added a second all cams page with only Ustream feeds. It is at http://www.iws.org/interactive_nestchat_allUstream.html. There is also a link above the West End cam on the page with the media player streams.

WE 4.29.
Metoo rises and backs to the 12 for a PS, then begins to preen. Wray stands on the rock and sleeps tucked. The two eldest chicks also sleep.

WE 4.37.
Metoo returns to the rock and lays down to sleep.

WE 4.42.
Wray wakes and looks down over her chicks and to the right. She preens her chest.

4.45
She returns to her tucked position.

WE 4.47.
The two elder chicks each stretch out a wing, then return to their sleeping position.

4.48
Then the one at the 3 rises and begins to preen its right wing.

4.49
Then lays back down to sleep. Boat passes in the distance.

WE 4.51.
It's the third ones turn to rise and preen. It lays closest to the cam.

4.52
Then lays back down to the rock to sleep. Another boat passes.

WE 4.58.
I keep seeing something at the right of the screen. Could K01 be standing at the 4-5 ????

Chick at the 3 preens as it lays to the 9.

WE eaglet 1 and 2 are awake and preening, 3 sleeps...adult perched on the rock...


PH and SC state off air....

WE 5.03.
The two eldest begin to stir and rise. One at the 3 does a PS to the right. #1 and #2 stand preening.

5.05
The one at the 3 lays down again. Then the one at the front does too. The one at the 3 rises again and moves to center, then Metoo is up.

5.06
They all end up in a huddle at center as another boat passes.

WE 5.10.
Wray wakes again and looks to the right, she calls out and trumpets. Chicks remain in their huddle.

5.11
Wray watches to the rear and left rear. She steps a bit to the front of the rock and calls out and looks down at her chick.

5.12
Then the cam goes black ??? then on again, then off, then on. It was more like a quick fade out than a DBS ????

5.13
Wray stands looking down to the right from the rock. She stares. Chicks toss and turn.

5.14
Then she lifts her head and appears to call again.
