I am watching from the Bay Area. To be specific, San Jose, Calif, Willow Glen area. Lots of trees as this is the heart of old San Jose and was the town of Willow Glen years ago. No eagles here (sigh.)
Song birds abound and the occasional hawk wanders in.

wavey.gif We are watching from Newbury Park, CA. We are a post-secondary special education class for students with moderate to severe disabilities. We love to watch the eagles, especially our two namesakes, Thunder and Lightning. You go girls! Way to soar! I'm watching from Waco, Texas, along with 20 of my students in my 4th grade classroom. We are currently studying inherited vs learned traits as part of our Science curriculum and have found the bald eagles nest (10 & 26) to be quite fascinating. This is an extremely motivating unit with the help of the live web cam, so there's lots of learning going on here. We have been able to bring in all or our core subjects with this experience, so I'm confident that my students are going to remember this for years to come.

Glad to hear that students are getting to share this experience of watching the activities of the bald eagles especially during nesting season. It's very exciting to see that little fur ball grow quickly into a beautiful eagle, ready for his first flight!

Would love to have you post in Nest Observations if you have time - we've had past classes set aside a period of time to note the nesting activities and they would then make a post of what they saw!

Lots of fun and it helps the biologists! Anyway - welcome everyone! wavey.gif

Hi all. I have been watching babies 68 and 69 from my desktop here in Hauppauge, New York. I had been watching a live bear cam over the winter, and followed mother and cub till they left the den. I'm happy to be able to see these eagles up close and personal.

Watching from Ventura, CA. Saw the eagles in person last week when we were anchored in Pelican Harbor on out sailboat. These birds had red wing bands and were having a hard time hunting with all the Gulls harrassing them.

I have been watching the Catalina Island cam...the Two Harbors and the West End....Every day I watch for hours. I noticed the Two Harbor Chic has been left alone for 20 mins so far...It's the first time I have seen it left alone for so long and it looked like it was eating on it's own!!!
I am worried about the runt chic in the West end nest. I hope every day it will still be there alive...food is abundant there so maybe it will survive...I hope...I hope!
Oh, I am watching from Studio City, CA

wavey.gif Superdupersiep and Welcome!

Going to put a link to your post over on the Chat thread as we have another member Petra .. Pettie .. who lives in the Netherlands and regularly posts on there.

I am sure she will be delighted to know there's another member from her own country on the Forum.
