All Eagles All The Time 2008/2009 is an Archival/History in Videos and Still captures showing the various stages throughout the year in the lives of the Eagles on the Pelican Harbor Nest on Santa Cruz Island.
This is the PH Nest - camera zoomed out. Season 2007/2008 was a successful one for this nest in that 2 eggs were laid and both successfully hatched ... but then on May 19th, 2008 both chicks were attacked on the nest by a sub-adult and life was never the same again, this season, for the parents and the chicks. You can review last season's events from 'Nestorations to Fledging' by checking out the [b] Class of 2008 Currently the camera is not operational on this nest. We hope that technicians will be able to go out to the Island very soon to repair it. Camera fixed October 2/08 ... capture courtesy of hedi ![]() We assume that the adult eagles K-10 and K-26 are currently enjoying some R & R ... but before long we hope to see them once again at their nest ... bringing sticks and fluff ... to start the Restorations ... aka Nestorations by the A-49 Cruzers. Last year they visited the nest occasionally in late September/early October and again in November and December but it wasn’t until January that they really got into full nestoration mode ready for the eggs that were laid earlier than in past years .. in late February The Videos and Stills ... that will eventually be posted here on this thread ... have been selected ... as their favourites ... by the members who have captured them on Nest Watch. You can see more videos and still pictures ... at a later date ... by visiting the Daily Observations thread. Also known as Nest Watch We ask you NOT to post comments in this thread. VIEWING ONLY PLEASE! This will enable faster viewing by Dr. Peter Sharpe and the IWS Team ... for record purposes .... and also for Members and visitors to the forum. |

K-10 & K-26 ARE BACK & BRINGING IN SOME STICKS!
October 10, 2008 The nestorations have started with many fly-ins and fly-outs. Sticks were delivered, moved around the nest and of course Mom K26 gave Dad K10 the "eye" and the "beak" as where to place them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

FIXING UP THEIR NEST!
December 1, 2008 As if someone flicked a switch, the PH pair suddenly got busy with multiple round trips--bringing in the sticks and working on nestorations. The pair was on the nest at sun-up, and work continued until one eagle flew away at 08:24--the other followed around 08:31am. Just a few of many fly-ins and outs: fly-in at 6:33am fly-in at 06:46am take-off 07:31am exit 07:47am exit 07:55amThere were a few discussions on the subject of construction: 07:09am 08:19am |

December 1, 2008 Both eagles were on the nest at first light after loud calling was heard before the cam came on. 6:26 to 6:37 am ![]() ![]() It's likely K10 who left and returned shortly afterwards with a stick. Nice landing, K10. ![]() ![]() Another departure (not shown) and return around 6:45 am ![]() another stick delivery at 6:58 am |
