Dear Forum Members,
The Eagle CAM discussion forum was created to provide a place where people could go to ask questions and learn about the bald eagles that are being restored to the California Channel Islands. The membership and level of activity on this forum has increased immensely over the past two years. With the assistance of biologists providing updates, volunteers who act as moderators, and the support from the members, this forum has become an extremely effective and valuable educational tool.
As some of you may know, the operation of the Eagle CAM is supported from federal government funding sources. Since activities associated with government funding must adhere to specific guidelines we have developed a set of protocols for the Eagle CAM forum, which are posted below. These protocols are also essential for protecting members’ rights and maintaining the integrity of the Eagle CAM forum. Please note that all fundraising activities are now to be conducted through the IWS site. It is also important to note that the 2009 Nest Adoption Challenge and other fundraising activities will be handled through the IWS site. However, the Eagle CAM discussion forum will continue to direct supporters to the IWS site, which can be reached via the 'How You Can Help Channel Islands Eagles and Institute of Wildlife Studies’ topic forum.
Please take the time to carefully read the protocols and if you have any questions or comments please contact Cathy Reznicek through the discussion forum. We will do our best within our guidelines to address your concerns.
The partners supporting this program appreciate the level of interest and involvement from members on the forum and hope that it continues to grow!
