Yet another week has passed and all the eagles keep on growing and looking more and more like their parents, the West End and Pinnacle chicks in particular, who stand almost as big as their parents. Here are a couple of pictures of the Pinnacle nest. It was quite windy that day so both parents preferred to stay in the nest for most of the day.
![]() And this was today after the fog cleared out. ![]() I visited Twin Rocks nest yesterday, K-17 was providing some shade while both chicks slept but I could not get a good picture due to the heat wave so here’s last weeks pictures. ![]() ![]() It’s admirable how the parents endure the heat to provide comfort and protection to their babies. ![]() We’ve continued to work on Hyde’s new home by placing the net over both enclosures, waterproofing the wall diving the cages, placing display windows and shaving off some of the gravel from Pimu’s into Hyde’s enclosure. Here's to show you other Pete's great skills. ![]() ![]() ![]() I have not gone fishing and probably won't until after banding season since the Americorps group fished over a month’s worth of food for Pimu. ![]() ![]() All ten of them also worked on Hyde’s cage for a whole day, which means we will finish the job that much sooner. Until next week |

Wow great photos and info Steffani! Thank you so much for the update - the enclosure looks super and it will be great for Pimu and of course for her new neighbor - Hyde - when he can be moved. I was leaning on that wall last week - it wasn't wet was it !
That was great that you guys got some help with the fishing duties. The chicks just grow and grow! Again, thanks! |

Steffani - I think you got some really good pics of the Twin Rocks especially and Peter up in high places - wonder if he was one of those tree climbing kids and always seeking new adventures?

Great info Steffani and pics too. I wonder about Dr Sharpe and climbing up to those high places......I think he is part eagle
The enclosure is looking great. Should be a vast improvement for Pimu and her new neighbor, Hyde. |

I'd like to add my thanks to you, Steffani, for your great photos and information on Hyde's enclosure and the fishing adventure. Sounds like you had terrific help with AmeriCorps.
Thanks, Denny, for your information. I had never heard of them either. The photos Steffani thinks are not "too good" are priceless! Thank you, again! |

Fantastic pictures, but I was / am very DISMAYED at Dr Sharpe so high
WITHOUT A HELMET or safety line. REALLY Dr Sharpe.... My next door neighbor fell 4 feet and hit his head. His wife had to take care of him after that, he had to learn to walk again. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE wear a helmet or a safety line. (sorry for being such a worry wart) Ozzie |

Kath, you took the words right out of my mouth!!! And with the drill, he really needs safety googles. A personal friend lost an eye. He was hammering nails at the time. I also have experience with friends (2) who have relatives in vegetative state from "minor" head injuries. Peter, it's only cause we lurve ya!! |
