Another week has passed and all the eaglets are growing and doing well. The aggression between the chicks at the Two Harbors nest seems to be decreasing and the chicks appear to be closer in size now. I saw a photo captured today of one of the chicks standing on its feet, which usually occurs at about four weeks of age, so they are right on target. Steffani can see feathers starting to grow on the backs of the Pinnacle Rock chicks and the West End chicks are starting to grow feathers too.
We've been working hard on building a new enclosure for our golden eagle, Hyde, next to Pimu's cage (our bald eagle) and increasing the height of Pimu's area. We expect to be done within a week or two. While Harpo and Cumbrian were visiting yesterday I recorded a little video at the Seal Rocks nest. All they were doing was sleeping, but it shows how much they've grown since last week. ![]() |

PETER - Thank you for the video of the Seal Rock chicks - it's amazing how fast the chicks grow - thank you for taking time out of your very busy schedule for the Harpo's and Cumbrian's - I know they really appreciated being with you and seeing all the work IWS does - can't wait to see the pics they took.
Looking forward to hearing you Tues. May 8th at the SB Maritime Museum - know several other eagleholics - A49 Cruzers will be attending the May 8th in SB and May9th in Ventura. |

Great update and video. Glad to hear the enclosures for Pimu and Hyde are almost done.
Loved the video of Seal Rock....even if they were only sleeping. It's nice to see & hear their progress and growth also. Wish we could go to one of your lectures next week, but it's a bit too far for us to make it. Do you have any others scheduled? |

Thank you, Peter. I love the Seal Rocks nest and always enjoy what you post on it.

Thanks Dr. Peter, it is always nice to take a peek at chicks we don't see everyday. Future bald eagles that will soar over the waters in the island and now they just eat and sleep dreaming of fishes wiggling away
