Hello,

We have been keeping a close eye on all 11 chicks that are in nests on Catalina this past week (or at least Steffani has been). The triplets at the West End nest appear to be getting along well and the three adults are taking good care of them. Below is a short video of a recent feeding taken directly from the video server, so it flows better than what appears on our website.

The Seal Rocks chicks, two of the chicks that hatched in the wild on Catalina this season, are growing quickly, as you've seen at the other nests. This is a photo showing an adult and the two chicks (lying on the right side of the nest) to give you a different perspective of the nest.

And here is some video I recorded directly from the nest cam last Sunday.

Until next week.

Thank you! I saw the little TH chick before 7a.m. today and it looked fine, but read that there had been some bully behavior and became worried. Thank you for the good news on all the chicks.

sad.gif I won't be able to see the update stuff - at least I'm happy smile.gif to know all chicks are doing well - the little one at TH has been "getting around" the bullying by sneaking in the "back door" during feedings etc! thumbUp.gif

Harpo, if you're not bringing a laptop with you, you can read the update on one of our computers at the inn in Ventura.

Thanks Dr. Sharpe for the latest update - loved watching Seal Rock up close - guess mom and dad are yelling out at ravens - seems all the nests are still being attacked by the ravens - do they back off as the chicks get larger in size? Thank you to Steffani and Dave and the many others (if I start naming them I will probably leave someone out) who provide updates and are keeping an eye on all the eagle activity.

I agree with Sara O.. Seal Rock video is the best I've seen and am sending it on to friends.. shows the parents working together and the chicks being fed one at a time,, one more often.. and the hearing the waves below makes it even better.. Good job Dr. Sharpe and Steffani...
