Good Morning~
A-49 became quite vocal as an afternoon thunderstorm on Santa Cruz Island began. The showers lasted about 40 minutes, which made for a nice break from the day's heat. At this point I observed A-49 perched in the top of a bishop pine tree.

Soon after I spotted him, K-26 flew in. After perching together for about 10 minutes K-26 took off flying north toward the shoreline.

A-49 took off after A-26 and perched across the canyon in a tree. A-26 circled around to perch above A-49 in a snag.

Oh, Michaela...that's a WONderful report!! I love that photo of Mom perched next to him just hanging out together. It makes me feel good to see her with him knowing she really is watching out for him. Thanks also for the video...Mom has a beautiful voice! I wonder if when she took off to the north, was when she came to the nest?

Big question: Where has Dad been the last few days???

How WONDERFUL! This will ease the pain of losing our camera link to the family if we can get occasional updates like this seeing them doing just exactly what they are supposed to be doing. Thanks, Michaela for taking the time to post the pix and the video!

Michaela, the update is great! Thanks so much. I loved the video. Amazing how sweet K-26's call is. It's like music to our ears.

I had a feeling you'd be toasting along with us, but NEVER expected the photos. Wow...that was such a treat. You guys are the best. Just the best...

Michaela, Thank you for the beautiful photographs, and the video of mom flying. It is great to finally hear her calling. So it was mom to the rescue when our baby was scared by the storm. She may have been calling back to him " Follow me son, I know the way".

Thank you again, for taking the time, in your busy schedule, to post this report. It keeps us up to date with our boy's activities.

Thank you for the terrific photos, Michaela. The mom and #49 seem so close by in your shots! I really enjoyed the video with sound, too! Thanks to all the team for joining in last night and for posting your photos. Without your team now we would not know at all if Cruz was OK or not.
