Has there ever been times when the eaglets flew away unexpectedly when the team ascended to the nest to tag? Some of those eaglets are so large and look to have such large and powerful wingbeats (Jim took a real beating this year!)
It's been a real thrill following the team this year. All of us watching admire your skill and dedication. |

Yes, many have jumped. They glide off the nest because they don't have flapping flight yet.

The next question was a dumb one - the answer was given when Jim was helping tag the chick in the rock cliff nest and Dr. Sharpe was down at the edge of the water just in case the chick decided to glide down. You go get them and gently complete the tagging.
