Karen - So happy about little Allen's arrival - he may not like his pic later on, but his family will cherish it forever.

Just saw the repeat on Animal Planet "Untamed and Uncut" re the chicks (Spirit & Skye) getting knocked off the PH nest by the intruder - saw Robin, Deb, a quick look at Sara, Dr. Sharpe, Stephanie, Dr. Weldy - wish both of them had made it to a long life - but at least we still have Spirit.

Love all the postings by all the great camera shots and those found on the internet - happy belated birthday to all who have celebrated lately.

So very, very sad about Ft. Hood shooting - Kevin is now at Ft. Bliss, but his house is in Killeen - said he doesn't know anyone who was shot - all his friends at Ft. Hood have been deployed to Iraq.

My baby, Kevin, will celebrate his 38th birthday on Mon. 11-9 - my oldest, Karen turned 40 this year 6-8 - gosh I'm feeling old - and now Karen's youngest is in uniform with the Cadet Air Patrol - there high school has no ROTC, but there is CAP (not part of the school).

Have a great weekend!

George,  I have a question.  Do you know how one would go about cloning out something from a shot (like a person) in Photoshop?

I took this shot of a Japanese tree in High Park and I think it would be better if the person wasn't there:

I'm not sure how easy this is to do - I thought maybe the background could be cloned and copied over the person,  but I can't seem to get any of the tools to do that.

That would be how i would do it using the clone stamp tool in ps. Of course this could be a problem if you wanted to keep the grass adjacent to the tourist

Not all shots are easy to remove extraneous distractions from. I know it can be done but i dont have the ps skill level nor the patience to even try it often times. However it can be a godsend to remove less detailed items such as poles and such comming up from behind the head of somebody in a shot

Before I shuffle off to bed for much needed rest, I thought i would show two images of one of the few "Restored" areas of the prison. These are two images of the prison synagog for the jewish inmates. Apparantly, there was a rabbi who assisted the jewish inmates who finally got a Temple to go with the Inmate Chapel that the rest of the inmate popluation used. This has been properly restored and if i recall was just recently unvieled to visitors. I think this area is also leant out to some groups for bar/bot mitzvahs and other ceremonies but for some reason I dont understand why anyone would want to say "yes irvink, i had my bar mitzvah in prison, but it did sort of remind me of hebrew school we went to when we were kids"

What can i say i am just a dumb goy

While plain they really did a nice job restoring this area of the prison and its actually the nicest area of the prison restored so far too.

For some reason this area above where i think the Torah Scrolls are kept in a synagog sort of caught my eye wtih the way the light was hitting it. It was the first thing that caught my eye when i walked in and saw it on the far wall. The tones of the wood used in this temple were captivating to the eye as well
