have to pass this one along about the cat who ends up in heaven!
WARNING!! GROAN ALERT! WARNING! WARNING! A cat dies and goes to Heaven. God meets him at the gate and says, "You have been a good cat all of these years. Anything you desire is yours, all you have to do is ask." The cats says, "Well, I lived all my life with a poor family on a farm and had to sleep on hardwood floors." God says, "Say no more." And instantly, a fluffy pillow appears. A few days later, 6 mice are killed in a tragic accident and they go to Heaven. God meets them at the gate with the same offer that He made the cat. The mice said, "All our lives we've had to run. Cats, dogs and even women with brooms have chased us. If we could only have a pair of roller skates, we wouldn't have to run anymore." God says, "Say no more." And instantly, each mouse is fitted with a beautiful pair of tiny roller skates. About a week later, God decides to check and see how the cat is doing. The cat is sound asleep on his new pillow. God gently wakes him and asks, "How are you doing? Are you happy here?" The cat yawns and stretches and says, "Oh, I've never been happier in my life. And those Meals on Wheels you've been sending over are the best!" Barump rump rump...crash! (as the stage hook comes out from the wings to yank me off stage) |

The bird's wings are long and broad which makes them effective for flying. The eagle has approximately seven thousand feathers. The feathers are lightweight and hollow yet very strong and very flexible. The feathers trap layers of air, which protects the bird from the cold as well as the heat from the Sun. The bald eagle changes the position of the feathers to keep a good and normal body temperature, which is one hundred and two degrees Fahrenheit. When the American bald eagle suns on a cold morning, it ruffles and rotates its plumes. The plumes are either opened to the air or drawn together to minimize the insulating effect. The feathers provide waterproofing and protection, but are most important for flying. The feather structure helps the eagle easily stay in the air. When plumes overlap, they can make a dense covering in which the bird can freely open or close. There are many feather layers, each layer serving a different yet important part for the American bald eagle. There are two main layers of feathers, outer and inner layers. There are smaller feathers that are under the outer layer of feathers. The feathers allow the eagles to live in extremely cold regions. http://library.thinkquest.org/CR0215087/eagle.htm ![]() Visit Eaglepedia DISCLAIMER: Information here has been gathered in good faith from the internet and cannot be guaranteed to be totally accurate. |

Thanks for asking, Cathy. It's going great. The weather isn't nearly as bad as I had expected. A lot better here than the 110-115 we had in Riverside last week! With my handy GPS, we've been searching for the best parks to play in. They do have some nice parks here! Christopher & Leyla are taking turns spending the night with me. Leyla's not been away from Mommy that much, so wanted to ease her into the separation. She did very good. Here's a picture I took of her with my cell phone sleeping with the autobon eagle I brought for her to play with. I don't think I'm gonna get it back. |

Good morning everyone.
T.G.I.F. Jann your Avitar is adorable and so is your Grand-daughter. Hope you enjoy your time with your family in the South. I'm sure you will. Harpo thanks for the informative articles you Post daily. We are all getting an education here on Eagles. Maria called the doctor last night concerning Lil Buds umbilical cord. They spoke over the phone and the doctor reassured Maria everything was all right. If it was infected it would have an odor, and that's not the case. Better safe then sorry. I'm sure she misses me and wants me there with her. We have a busy day in the Office today and I have to do the Billing too. So I better get my ducks in a row here. At least I found my desk yesterday but it took 3 hours to get organized again. Caught up on all the data I had to enter into the computer, and the phone was ringing off the hook all day. Next week I'll tackle the supplies that came in. A womans work is never done. Hoping everyone has a nice day to end this work week. |

AwwwJann~ How precious! We need to frame that child!
Glad to hear things are going so fun with the grandkids. Happy Friday everyone. We have our company picnic at Irvine Park tomorrow, so today should be panic at the disco trying to organize everything. I would love to take mom, but it will be too hot. We did have dinner last night though. Taco night. Mom only wants the french fries! I bring tacos and fries for 6 other ladies though, and we all get a good dose of sodium, and I get big smiles in return! Thanks for posting the Buddy update last night Hula. Have a great day~I'm off to be the wizard! |

Good mornng!
Thanks Hula for the Buddy update. Of course he's going to grow up even in the hospital, but it's still a surprise to see the change in him! Trish, you wizard you, I love your humor! Jann, Leyla is so adorable, and speaking of growing up.... How did that happen!? Deb and NAC Crew, fantastic job this year! I bet if we all contributed just a little bit more we could definitely hit the $30,000 mark. |
