This video was posted which shows an eagle somewhere off Catalina catching a fish:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLtdAoZMpz8 Someone said this was probably near West End, and this bird did not appear to have any wing tags. Would this have been Wray (since she is an exception and does not have wing tags?). |

LOL I was going to post this (finally) with the same question Ian!
Linda/Lala believes it is west end nest area from photo references: ![]() Here is the ridgeline on the video.... (as per Lala's capture from video) ![]() (lala's photo from couple of years ago) since we couldn't see any bling and if it is indeed in WE area - it could well be Wray ? also - was wondering if they were "baiting" her so they could get the video does that happen often - is it an issue - is it permitted feeding crumbs to the little sparrow is one thing - I know the fisherman toss fish out from time to time but I can understand that ........ just thinking out loud (thru my fingers) just interest in your thoughts Dr. Sharpe |

Yes, that was at the West End territory, so it was one of the West End adults. They could have purposefully thrown a fish out for the bird, or thrown back a fish they didn't want to keep. The eagles often perch near fishing boats to get free fish. The problem is when they pick up fish that have broken a fishing line and get tangled in the line or get a hook in their foot. That has happened to both the Seal Rocks adults and to at least a few other eagles.
