Hoppy, we all miss our sweet boy. It's so wonderful, so many still feel the pain of our little guy, we'll never forget and will always love him. He was such fun and so full of silly antics. K10 and K26, will give us new life that will bring a smile to all of our faces. Thanks to all of us that care so much. Bless him.

On September 14th of last year, I misplaced Jann for a few days. I can tell you now that I had misplaced her at LAX airport. She joined Saraoh and they boarded an airplane for Salt Lake City.
Upon their arrival at Salt Lake City, they rented a jeep and the next morning (September 15, exactly one month to the day after Limuw’s tragic accident) they headed out to the Nevada desert, armed with a GPS unit and the final GPS coordinates for our Limuw. They found some of his remains right where the GPS said he would be. They found and collected some feathers and bones and buried them away from the road where they wouldn't be found accidentally. Sara had made him a beautiful cement plaque which they used to mark his final resting place. They planted an assortment of wildflowers around the stone and had a ceremony for him. It was an emotional trip and they were not able to talk about it until recently. I felt as we head into a new season that all the forum members deserve the comfort I got from knowing that our Limuw was laid to rest by loving forum hands and not just left in the desert. They took pictures which we are posting for the forum members. https://picasaweb.google.com/HulaBunee/Limu...O7ps4XxpIaAwQE# MIB |

Thank You Tiger/MIB for sharing Limuw's final story. I still have tears left as I sit here crying about losing him. I am thankful that Jann and Sara were able to find and bury him. The marker and flowers are a moving tribute to Limuw as he touched the hearts of so many. Thanks, Cathie
I just noticed that there were pictures of the area. It was a beautiful place. Limuw, you are truly free to forever soar. And Jann and Sara, Thank You so much, Cathie This post has been edited by bigbird on Feb 26 2008, 10:16 PM |

to the east on the map is Bald Eagle Mountain, a fitting resting place with that overlooking our Limuw. I love the wildflower touch.
Thank you Dave for sharing your wife & Sara's journey with us. Ozzie |

Sara and Jann...I am so deeply touched. I can't even find the words to express how appreciative I am that the both of you made the trip to give our Limuw a proper burial. It must have been difficult and yet so necessary for the both of you. Thank you very much for sharing this journey with us. I only wish I could have been there with the both of you to hold your hands and share in a much needed hug. The first feather photo..wow...I can only imagine the emotions you must have been going through at that point. My heart still aches for Limuw, yet I am hopeful for the future of the newly laid eggs on the Channel Islands. Bless your hearts!

I too must add my gratitude for this post and information. He has definitely left his talon tracks, and todays tears feel a lot more like letting go and moving on. The memories of this awesome creature will soar in our hearts forever as well. That is obvious byt the emotions thoughts of him still evoke in each of us.
