I hope everyone has a nice saturday since i will be MIA til early evening. I am off on a photo safari, despite the philly transit strike, to shoot a 170 year old prison in the middle of phildelphia.

Its a balmy 34 degrees here too so maybe i should unearth my speedo for the trip ROFL_sm.gif (trust me, i would not be caught dead wearing a speedo) hiding.gif

Good morning Peeps.

Hope all went smoothly with Allen's 1st night home. With 2 experienced parent's it should have.

Hope all who have been felling under the weather are up and about today.

We had a frost overnight. Was so cold last night Bell wouldn't do anything when Ken took her out.

Last night at dinner we went out the door we normally do, but the gate was locked on the patio. So Ken hopped the wall, and left me there! I couldn't get my butt on the top of the wall, so I started looking around. It appeared on the other side to be lower. So I walked over there, and Security followed me! Well I managed to sit on it, and then get each leg over one at a time. By that time Security was on the same side as I was, and offered a helping hand. I jumped down, thanked the men, and headed for the car. They said I was amazing. I told them that was nothing, they should have seen my stunts when I was younger!

The Winter Texans are starting to arrive. Went to another location last night and saw several familiar faces from last year. Good music, good conversations, and trying to figure out where all the events will be this year. Friday is popular. You could go to three different venues on Fridays! Weather is still perfect! We got home at about 10pm, had a bite to eat and called it a night. I just got up. DH is still snoozing. They called him up three times to sing! The announcer knows him from previous years and called him "my hero" as DH was a three time VietNam Vet and served 41+ years in the military. I thought DH was going to tear up with all the good words said about him. wub.gif They tease him also about learning to sing while he was flying helicopters. The "whop-whop-whop" of the blades giving him the beat for his songs. tongue.gif Good vibes, good evening!

good eagle morning

I'm here just trying to get a couple of eggs for cruzer friends but not having any luck - finding every other color and design except the ones I need sad.gif

we have a ton of errands to run today before the eagle scout ceremony tomorrow for one of our scouts Cartwheel-ani.gif (not for the errands but for the award)

it's sunny but really chilly here - a great looking fall day!

wonder how Harriet did in her travels yesterday - hope to see a report (and maybe a few more Camera_Bug.gif )

I'll be here till 10 and then I am the Patient today in the Office. Not sure if we are doing Root Canal, or opening my bite up some. I'm ready. Took my Pre Med which has me breaking out in a cold sweat and cramping up. Normally by the time the Temp. Assistant starts talking and distracting, me my body settles down. It's a BIG case, and he is a perfectionist, (a real Artist of his trade), most Assistants get upset with him when things don't go right he gets angry, but I have learned how to deal with him, so it doesn't bother me. I'm just anxious to see the finished result, but that will be after the 1st of the year. Crowning or Capping all my uppers. My lower molars already are crowned, so we are putting Laminates, (little tooth colored plastic shields,) over the lower front teeth. They will be really white and beautiful.

did you know:

egypt (3000 bc) celebrated the birthdays of pharaohs with unleavened bread (like pita) covered with herbs

soldiers in persia (500 bc) baked thin bread on their shields and then topped the bread with cheese and dates

romans (234-149 bc) ate flat rounds of dough dressed with olive oil, herbs and honey baked on stones

spanish (1522) returned home from the new world with tomatoes - wealthy people believed that the fruits were poisonous. Only peasants were brave (and hungry) enough to eat them.

AT THE SAME TIME - peasants in Naples were making and eating flat bread almost every day, occasionally topping the bread with tomatoes. Word spread that these breads were the best in all of Italy.

By 1889, Italian peasants had added herbs and cheese to their flat brads. When their queen, Margherita, visited she wanted to taste this delicacy and summoned chef Raffaele Esposito tomake it for her - royalty did not like to be seen eating peasant food.

and thus the birth of pizza....... Yummy.gif
