There is a LOT of great information on the Channel Islands Live! page that tells you about the IWS and their Partners involved with the Restoration projects. Lots of FAQ's too!

That is Frequently Asked Questions. These also will give you a great introduction into the forum and all the topics we discuss.
Check out the various videos on the IWS site. To learn how the ** PH Cam came to Santa Cruz Island ... Click Here ... you will be impressed.

Next you click onto Discussion Board, which takes you to the Welcome page and you will log in with your member's User name and password.

Once you have logged in ..... where do you go?

The next page is the Chil EagleCam page. Note there are 5 Parent Categories

There is also Board Statistics where you will see the names of the other members currently active on the forum.

So that you will be aware of what each Parent Category is about, we have listed the separate sections in each forum, and they have been colour coded, to enable members to distinguish between each one. Also each of the Topics within a Forum are explained more fully.

When you enter a forum and scroll down to the bottom of that page there is a blue bar where information of how many topics have been covered is shown.
They are sorted by...[last post date]..in..[Descending order]..from..[the last 30 days]..[Go]
If you click on the last 30 days button [v] this will open up and show you that you can go right back to the very beginning of all the topics here. Just remember to click on the GO button or nothing will happen. Then you can review the pages below the blue bar to read the topics

Nest Observations
This is a Daily Thread normally started by one of the moderators. The links to all the EagleCams are posted in the opening post.

This thread is for members to ‘Nest Watch’ and post what they see happening on the four nests that currently have active EagleCams .......


** Pelican Harbor .. previously known as Santa Cruz on Santa Cruz Island.
Sauces Canyon on Santa Cruz Island.
Two Harbors and West End on Santa Catalina Island

It is hoped that the EagleCam at Twin Rocks will be repaired .. and that new Cams will be activated .. at other nesting locations .. in the new season.


Dr. Sharpe and the IWS Team were asked, on behalf of the membership, what we could do to assist them ... be the volunteer eyes and ears as it were.

He replied that they were primarily interested in the Lay Date.
For Incubation ... they recorded the Time, that they stand, Roll the egg/s, Lay Down, and Switch with their mate.
The Most Important Thing was Prey Delivery Times, By Whom, and What It Was .... sometimes that is impossible to tell due to the distance and camera angle.... but at least Bird or Fish.
They had plenty of in-depth behaviour data for adults and chicks so didn't need any more. That Information could still be recorded for our benefit, for future information.

To enable Dr Sharpe and the IWS Crew, and anybody-else that should require this information, to access it quickly .. please remember that it is the CHANNEL ISLANDS NESTS ONLY ... either on or off camera ... that we post our observations/comments about on this thread.

To assist in further learning about Eagles .... Eaglepedia -- as researched by Harpo (tidbits) is also posted .. at relevant times .. on this thread.


IWS Updates
This thread is for use by our beloved biologists to post the weekly updates about the eagles and their whereabouts etc.
Both the Catalina Island Updates and the Northern Channel Islands Updates are normally posted on Wednesdays.


Daily Chat ...
This is another Daily Thread which is normally started by an East Coaster because they are up before the West Coasters ... it saves duplication that way ... however anyone that is up late ... early hours of the morning ... may start this thread, preferably not before midnight.

This is where you can visit with other members, send Birthday, Anniversary, and other Greetings and discuss a variety of subjects.
All information about other Eagle’s nests and Cams should be posted here .... to keep the Nest Watch purely for the EagleCams at Pelican Harbor, Sauces Canyon, Two Harbors and West End and information, about the eagles on these nests, and on any of the other Channel Islands Eagle’s nests, that they ... the IWS ... are actively involved with and constantly monitoring.
