glad you saw the planes lala - nice caps
how cute is your purse :) clever
a school mate of mine unfortunately is listed on the Vietnam Memorial in DC :( he was in a helicopter that was shot down - he was drafted about a month or two after we graduated - yes Linda, too many names on that wall.....

Katie we saw MIB on Sunday night - a lot of chuckles! hope you enjoyed it
Laurie - sending special thoughts Luke's way

supposed to be 90's again today :( hope we have good air conditioning at work :) they are saying cooler weather at end of week...... I hope

Outstanding Carole - sometimes we get all caught up in today's business that we do forget about the past and how we got where we are today! thank you ..... our Princess Cruz <3

catM - May 29, 2012 12:15 PM (GMT)
Carole, beautiful opening! Thank you! :)^

Cool this morning but going up to the upper 80's this afternoon. Wind is down quite a bit which should help the firefighters around the state. The big fire in the southwest is now over 133,000 acres and is 0% contained. Those hot shot crews work 15 hour shifts. I pray for them.

I hope everyone has a great day.

It's still pouring sheets of :rn: here :( I'm wondering when we are going to start floating away

It's only 5C/41F here now, expecting a high of 11C/52F. It's going down to 1C/33F tonight :o

We are going backwards from early March when temps were in the high 70's and 80's

Artsy Mom - May 29, 2012 02:19 PM (GMT)
Beautiful job on your last NAC post Carole :><: :><: :><: and awesome Eagleland :clk: :clk: 's as always...you get so much done before I've even had a morning :U:

The Delta Dad is notorious for dumpster diving...I am hoping that the ^"^ on that nest hasn't eaten any plastic bags with his food :X: Maybe Dad was a crow in a previous life :P

adklaurie - May 29, 2012 02:20 PM (GMT)
Good morning Cruzers.

Not moving my office until nest week sometime. Still have lots to do before that happens.

It's extremely humid here today. Already 81 degrees. We were woke up by a pretty good thunder and lightening storm about 4:00am this morning. Had to jump up and close all my windows. Then another smaller storm went through arounc 6:30. More heading our way this afternoon.

Still happy there's no :flk: :flk: :D

Well better get back to work

harpo516 - May 29, 2012 02:35 PM (GMT)
133,00 acres - sad, very sad. I too pray for all those who are working hard to fight the fires ....
alcoa is too funny - hoping for positive outcome for the other little chick (delta) of concern
thanks carole for keeping us up to date (and doing nac) LOL

marsha - today's opening was carole and it is indeed mighty good (I had yesterday) :)
ah cat - no 3 day weekends - phooey - so glad though that you are feeling better - keep it up :)
Penny - rain? we had all that last week - now Mr. has arrived and whooooeeee it's hot! back to 90 toady!

Laurie - you're moving your office? ES' new place is re-locating on Fri so he has to pack up the end of the week for the big move! They are going from 45th to 34th ?(don't quote me on that but close enough) They found a place with lots more space - all on one floor (now they are on 2) - wonderful windows - only couple blocks from train (Penn) station AND 1/2 the cost of the current office! Just the move is a hassle .... glad he's not the IT guy :)

OK back to work - only 4 day work week but lots to do - end of month stuff - grrr LOL

Naturegal - May 29, 2012 03:07 PM (GMT)
Prayers :candle: for all the fire-fighters dealing with this hugs fire, may they all stay safe. :X:

Cat
- Sorry about losing your 3-day weekends, that's a bummer, you will just have to holiday during the week. :Hugs:

Laurie & Penny - Hot and humid here, 82F but thunderstorms predicted for later. Supposed to cool off for the weekend.

harpo516 - May 29, 2012 03:16 PM (GMT)
carole I like that holiday during the week concept - less crowds to deal with :<::

Well there are at least two holidays that should never EVER be moved to the closest monday. I dont find it right that both Memorial and Veterans days should be a cheap excuse for a 3 day weekend, party going or sales. Both of those days Nov 11 and Memorial day have had too many to die for a lousy 3 day weekend :BX:

adklaurie - May 29, 2012 03:25 PM (GMT)
Deb - my office is moving just down the hall from where I am now. I'll be "sharing" with my supervisor. Won't be able to visit here to much when that happens. :( :( I'll miss checking in on the all the eagles and critters too. . .

We started our summer hours this week - 4 day work weeks till mid August, but this week is a bonus only three days. . . :><: :><: :><: :><:

When we moved our office back in 2001 from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor, it was a nightmare. The movers could not fit many of our furniture pieces in the freight elevator! :8O: The foreman came to me to give me the bad news and I told him that our furniture had been constructed in the office not moved there to begin with. I did not realize that they were too big for the elevator. Everything had to be taken apart and then moved upstairs. When the movers tried to reassemble things, they could not figure it out since they did not bother to label the various pieces. It took us a full week to move and have all our furniture back – also we had to hire the carpenter who made the stuff to begin with. Not a fun week! I sure hope things go better for Laurie and ES.

catM - May 29, 2012 03:40 PM (GMT)
Laurie, nice summer hours! My boss used to work just 4 days a week during spring and summer.

Penny, beautiful prayer.

harpo516 - May 29, 2012 03:54 PM (GMT)
oh sorry about the share laurie but maybe they are out of the office a lot

gosh cat - that would have been crazy - at my old old location - a law firm had bought the building and they were installing on site, special furniture - the boss picked it out not asking those who used it how it should be - they moved in and the ladies all asked where the typewriters were going to be put - he looked dumbfounded and asked why they needed that since they had computers - duh - type in forms, labels, envelopes some times, etc....... so they had to take everything apart and rebuild to allow for spaces for the typewriters ....... hmmmmm :)

Cat - When I moved into an apartment from a house, I had a 9' long sofa. It wouldn't fit into the elevator nor could they carry it up the stairs. They hoisted it up to the 3rd floor balcony that had sliding doors and brought it in that way. What a nightmare until that was done and of course an extra charge for the labour.

jeannec - May 29, 2012 04:04 PM (GMT)
Good day everyone!! I had a great weekend away - great weather and had some fun stuff, too. Chincoteague Refuge has a nesting pair of bald eagles so I got to see an adult and the two fledglings while I was there. And tons and tons of egrets and herons everywhere!

I just saw on Facebook that the Delta chick was doing better today and ate. They are hoping it was just a piece of bone that was too large and that it was uncomfortable until it finally digested.

jeannec - May 29, 2012 04:06 PM (GMT)
Carole loved your opening today - so beautiful! :)^

chiquita - May 29, 2012 04:18 PM (GMT)
More moving problems...When we moved into our home in No. Calif. our bedroom was on the second floor...queen size mattress and box springs had to be manouvered up a spiral staircase to the second floor...the movers couldn't do it so the mattress and box springs were lifted to a flat roofed portion of the home below the bedroom, a large window in the bedroom was removed and the mattress and box springs were put in through the window space. When we moved from that home, the movers had no trouble taking the mattress and box springs down the spiral stairs!!!

catM - May 29, 2012 04:18 PM (GMT)
Penny, those falcons are adorable! <3 <3

Carole, of course it cost more to bring your sofa in that way! We paid a fortune to move that furniture at our office. I think I had to explain at least 3 times to our Board of Trustees why the move up one floor cost so much.

Jeanne, Chincoteague sounds wonderful. I am glad you got to see some eagles! So glad the Delta chick is doing better.

jeannec - May 29, 2012 04:40 PM (GMT)
Cat it was - and I also went to Assateague - the name of the island and national seashore. Saw plenty of ponies, too - they wander right there with you. I didn't get too close tho cuz I know just how nasty a bite or kick can be!

I will post photos later or tomorrow

catM - May 29, 2012 04:43 PM (GMT)
Jeanne, can't wait to see :clk:

sandie - May 29, 2012 04:48 PM (GMT)

Glad to have everyone back "home" now.

Just in time for me to leave.....don't forge <::: t.....hall pass. If we are lucky we will be able to meet up with Karen some time in the next couple weeks. Schedules.

Unbelievably brave! In our little town, where I worked
as emergency dispatch, Our firemen rushed into an apt because it was thought
someone was still in there. There was a fire burst and a floor cave in and we lost
one fireman and another badly burned. Forest fires are so deadly. 133,000 acres
So sad! :'(
Yesterday!
Amethyst - Pearl Harbor and Viet Nam memorials "LEST WE FORGET"

Deb Beautiful poem

EagleWatcher - eagle so touching guarding grave stone

Sandie - Have fun on trip Keep safe!

Laurie - Good Luck on your moving. Moviing in with your supervisor is it a
promotion? Prayers for Luke :candle: :candle:

Ojailala - That was really special getting the flag and planes! Once in a lifetime
shot :)^

Imorton - So nice your DD's graduation went well!

Today -

Carole - Nice presentation ! Nice shot of Dr. Sharpe B-)) and Trap eaglet
Eagleland - AEF cuties and dear harmon!

Deb - So nice ES office will be better! Hope you have a SMOOTH work week :X:

CatM - 133,000 acres sooooooo sad! I have traveled all over NM and AZ with
my two friends. Had some nice adventures, nice memories, can't bare to
think so much is burning :'( So sad my friend can't remember any of it and
can't remember when her DH takes her for a ride on familiar roads. Hope
there's a way for you to get a break to have a 3day weekend.

Penny - Too much rain! Makes one cry! Pretty peregrines!

George - I also think they shouldn't have taken away GW and L's birthday and
made it "president's day"

CatM - Chiquita - Carole - Interesting moving stories!

Jeannec - So nice your trip went so well and you were able to see eagles and
ponies!!!!

Okay! Going to "pat myself on my back" Been wondering how I could get my
curtains and windows washed. I have a large 92in glass sliding door in my LVRM.
Couldn't find anyone. With bionic knees unable to bend enough to climb a ladder.
Couldn't stand it any longer. So SAID A PRAYER ,was able to pull myself up
one step of my step ladder and did my curtains and sliding glass door windows.
Whoopee!!!!! :**: :**: You would have laughed!

Don't worry Marsha, Dr. Sharpe probably waits until he has several cheques and then deposits them altogether. Thanks for the donation. :Hugs:
