As you know All Eagles All The Time 2007/2008 is an Archival/History in Videos and Still captures showing the various stages throughout the year in the lives of the Eagles on the West End Nest on Catalina Island.
In December 2007 we watched the eagles start to bring sticks to the nest. Then the camera went off, and did not return until January 2008, when we could see a big difference in the nest. They had really worked hard on their Nestorations and the nest looked great.
Dr Sharpe and Steff continued to work on the web cameras both on Catalina Island and on the mainland, and in February they finished setting up the tower at the West End Nest. This nest will have sound this season!
We witnessed a lot of bonding between these beautiful eagles ... and we think that some time between 6pm on March 5th (when the camera went off) and 7am on March 6th ... when we first observed an eagle rolling an egg in heavy fog ... that Wray laid their first egg.
So here we are ... onto the next important stage ... Eggs and Incubation.

We do however welcome comments, about any of the eagles, or the different stages, in the Daily Nest Watch or Chat threads.
Capturers are asked to wait until Cumbrian or EDblue (Eagle Duo) posts the first thread of each day before oosting or reserving a space for your videos and/or captures of the day to keep continuity to the archives.

I see 01 arrives and joins Wray - did Dianna try to land ?? (10:16) (others observed and answer was yes)
now both Wray and 01 are calling out
Wray needs time off from incubating duties - Poop shot! (the other way)
01 brings in a fish for HIS lunch, Wray makes a move to have her share - Oh my gosh I thought she was going to swallow that fish whole!!! :o

Now 01 has flown in to relieve Wray .. lots of vocalizing at the Parent Switch @ 2:04pm

THE DAY THE DOCTOR CALLED - RETRIEVING THE EGGS! March 13, 2008
01 calls out an alarm. Dr. Sharpe and the team are approaching the nest to switch the real eggs for fake eggs. 01 flies off the nest and returns numerous times. He is trying to protect the eggs. Dr. Sharpe climbs to the edge of the nest and keeps his head low. Wray and 01 must be swooping overhead.
Dr. Sharpe photographs the eggs in the nest bowl. He removes two eggs, places them in the protective blue box, and replaces them with two fake eggs. 01 returns to the nest shortly after Dr. Sharpe leaves. You can see the puzzled look on 01's face. He flies on and off the nest a few times, still unsure of the situation. Eventually he settles in to incubate the fake eggs.

01 is scrunched down on the nest, wary of something flying overhead. Wray arrives in a beautiful swoop with her talons full of a large pile of fluff. She tucks the fluff in around the edge of the nest bowl. 01 gets up. They are both watching their surroundings carefully. 7:16 am

01 is trying to incubatebut something is keeping him alert and calling (9:01)
well whatever it was before, it's back - 01 calls out and is again off the nest
now he's back and Wray is here now - both calling out - Wray now checking eggs and 01 is away to the left - Wray is going to incubate! (9:19)
some mighty vocal eagles and now we get to hear them - both on nest currently - wray muscles her way onto the eggs and 01 after a brief look around, moves to the left and away parent switch (2:14)

01 was incubating - began to call out - stood up and nearly got blown over in the wind (LOL) lifted his wings and off he went leaving nest MT - but within a few seconds Wray arrives - calls out and now incubates parent switch 7:01

Parent Switch Wray hops up quickly and flies off, 01 helicopters in from the left and begins incubation of the fake eggs immediately -excellent teamwork in the strong wind. 9:03 am
