Title: Pelican Harbor Eagle's Nest 2008
Description: Egg ... cellent Adventures!
Cumbrian - February 24, 2008 10:29 PM (GMT)
As you know All Eagles All The Time 2007/2008 is an Archival/History in Videos and Still captures showing the various stages throughout the year in the lives of the Eagles on the Pelican Harbor Nest on Santa Cruz Island.
We watched the eagles return to the nest in late September/early October 2007. But they really did not start their Nestorations until November when it was just like old times! They have really worked hard this season and the nest is looking great.
We witnessed a lot of bonding between these beautiful eagles ... both on the nest .. and by sound only ... off the nest!
On February 24th, 2008, K-26 laid their first egg.
So here we are ... onto the next important stage ... Eggs and Incubation.
The Videos and Stills posted here on this thread .. have been selected .. as their favourites ... by the members who have captured them on Nest Watch.
You can see more videos, and still pictures, by visiting the Daily Observations thread. Also known as Nest Watch
Again we ask you not to post comments in this thread. VIEWING ONLY PLEASE! This will enable faster viewing by Dr. Peter Sharpe and the IWS Team ... for record purposes .... and also for members and visitors to the forum.
We do however welcome comments, about any of the eagles, or the different stages, in the Daily Nest Watch or Chat threads.
Capturers are asked to wait until Cumbrian or EDblue (Eagle Duo) posts the first thread of each day before oosting or reserving a space for your videos and/or captures of the day to keep continuity to the archives.

K26 fussed about the nest - moving sticks, picking at little things, testing where the egg would be lying - eventually settling in and then she quietly bore down several times, stood and there was the first egg at the PH nest in 2008! Job Well Done!

NEW PARENTS ON THE NEST! February 25, 2008
Both parents were at the nest at first light.
K10 was on the egg, and K26 was perched on a branch. 6:13 am

K26 left for a bit but returned right away, as if she couldn't stay away from her egg.
She talked K10 into getting up by walking behind him very slowly. 6:29 am
K10 left but returned after a few minutes (not shown).
Both Mom and Dad wanted to be there!
